Chapter 784 Zhouzhou's Interrogation

Chapter 784 Zhouzhou's Interrogation

The Ancestral Master was already on the brink of an emotional breakdown, and after hearing Zhouzhou's words, he couldn't hold it in any longer. He burst into tears, wailing loudly as he held Zhouzhou tightly. "You're right! My life is so miserable!"

All the effort he had put in, painstakingly accumulating what little merit he had, and now, one of his golden legs was gone! Overcome with grief, the Ancestral Master cried even harder, tears and snot streaming down his face, which he carelessly wiped on Zhouzhou.

"Zhouzhou, what are we going to do now?" he sobbed.

Zhouzhou, clutching his clothes, blew her nose and cried even louder, "I don't know either! That was my hard-earned merit!"

She didn't believe for a second that the Ancestral Master was cultivating. All that merit was hers! Now that his golden leg was gone, Zhouzhou felt like she had lost a leg too. From now on, she was sure she'd be known as "Limping Zhou."

The pair cried loudly, their wails grating on everyone's nerves. Just as the Ancestral Master was about to wipe his snot on Zhouzhou again, Ye Lingfeng, his patience completely worn thin, strode over, grabbed his daughter, and pulled her away.

Zhouzhou, still sniffling, quickly grabbed the Ancestral Master's clothes and gave one last mighty blow, stretching a long strand of snot a whole meter.

The Ancestral Master froze. "What are you doing?"

Zhouzhou, eyes wide and fierce, shot back, "What are you doing?"

Both of them glanced at the places they had used as makeshift tissues and recoiled in disgust.

Ye Lingfeng, unable to bear the spectacle any longer, took Zhouzhou back to their room, changed her into clean clothes, and then returned.

The black-clad man lying on the ground looked at the two of them with disdain, his eyes full of contempt. "And you call yourselves a righteous sect? What a bunch of slobs!"

Zhouzhou, seeing his expression, instantly flew into a rage. She stomped on his leg with her chubby foot and raised a small fist. "Tell me, who ordered you to do this? If you don't talk, I'll break your arms and legs!"

As she spoke, she twisted her foot with a threatening glare.

At first, the man didn't take her seriously. But when a sharp pain shot through his body, he let out a scream, looking up at Zhouzhou in terror. He could feel his leg cracking! How could this little kid be so strong?

Seeing him still refusing to speak, Zhouzhou switched legs and stomped on the other one.

Another agonized scream tore through the night.

But Zhouzhou was unfazed. All she could think about was the hard-earned merit that was now gone. She was furious and showed no mercy with her stomping.

Zhouzhou wrinkled her nose in annoyance and threw the talisman outside, covering her ears. "So noisy."

Ye Lingfeng chuckled. "It's still early. Want to take a nap? You can continue dealing with him when you wake up."

"Sounds good," Zhouzhou agreed, placing a hand over her heart. Every time she looked at the Ancestral Master's leg, it made her sad.

The Ancestral Master was heartbroken too.

After crying together for a while longer, the pair finally went to bed and quickly fell asleep.

When Zhouzhou opened her eyes again, she was fully rested. She stomped outside, picked up the talisman, and pulled the man out. By now, he had been through two rounds of the ten most brutal tortures.

The moment she dragged him out, the black-clad man felt like he had just been saved. He didn't wait for Zhouzhou to speak before spilling everything in a rush. "The one who ordered me was someone named Chen Jiu. I don't know what he wants, but he paid me to do this."

"He told me to keep an eye on this place and no matter what, to make sure the Dragon Vein was completely destroyed."

As he spoke, he began to sob. His body ached, but his heart hurt even more.

Crying pitifully, he pleaded, "I just wanted to make some money. I've told you everything, I swear. Can you let me go now?"

Zhouzhou glanced at him. "You're sure you've told me everything?"

The man nodded furiously. "Yes! If I'm lying, may the heavens strike me down with lightning!"

Zhouzhou nodded back, and without a word, tossed him back into the talisman. Dusting off her hands, she declared, "Since you have no more value, there's no need to keep you around."

Once again, the man's shrieks filled the air.

Zhouzhou quickly slapped a silencing talisman on top, muffling his cries. She then ran over to Xi Mo and Ye Lingfeng and repeated everything she had learned.

"Chen Jiu?" The commander frowned. "That name doesn't ring a bell." (Notes: Jiu Means Nine in Chinese)

Neither Ye Lingfeng nor Xi Mo recognized it either.

Just then, the Ancestral Master, yawning, floated out of his statue. Casually, he remarked, "Oh, by the way, the Dragon Vein he broke is the ninth-largest of the veins."
