Chapter 270 Graduation Exams (12)

Week Later...

It's almost the end of the dungeon diving part of the graduating exam. To say the least, it was quite a boring and stressful week. I would need to relax a bit after leaving here. Well, there is nothing much to do after here anyway.

From what I know, the results would be published two days after the completion of the dungeon exam. Those two days are like rest days for the students to rest after the week-long dungeon life.

The dungeon diving is not important to see the prowess of the students but, once we graduate, then that means we have to take a job for a living. Even if our parents are rich, we need a source of income as the parents would stop being our wallet after graduating.

Why wouldn't they?

They fed us for two decades because we are their children but that doesn't mean they will be feeding even after we graduate. No matter how rich they were, if there was no income but only expenditure, even a wealth as tall as a mountain would disappear sooner or later.

Moreover, which good parent would want their children to become lazy and useless?

Sure, there are parents that would pamper their children but even many among them would want their children to do better in their life. Of course, the excessive pampering may hinder that but they wouldn't want their children to be lazy and useless.@@@@

Once the results come out, there will be an event where we will get our graduation certificates, which are proof that we studied here and graduated from here.

Using the certificate, one could get a job almost anywhere. Of course, there are not many organizations that can offer jobs in this world, but nonetheless, the certificate would prove that you graduated from here and those organizations would usually prefer graduates to the ones that didn't.

In this world, in addition to nobles, there is the Adventurer's Guild and Magic Association. They are the big job providers. Sure there are merchants but they can't offer jobs on a scale like these three factions.

It is why, I kept things like that even a secret from my family.

I would reveal some secrets to my family later on but much of my secrets would forever be secrets. No other living soul would know until a few hundred years at the least.

After another hour or so, we were teleported out of the dungeon.

From his demeanour, it almost feels like he didn't want to be here but I know that he asked for this assignment. It was the same every year.

What's his purpose if he wasn't interested in actually overseeing the exams?

I believe that if someone asks for the same assignment every year, there should be a purpose behind that. Is there some other factor that I don't know?

Maybe there is a bonus that the overseer would earn and he is here for that, rather than because he actually enjoys overseeing the exams.

I should ask Angela about this and I hope that there is some bonus reward for them. If not, why would be he doing this?

Everyone would want something that makes them do something. I hope that there is no nefarious purpose behind this. It matters not to me anyway. I would be leaving the academy in a few days. Whatever happens here, that's for the academy to do something then.

What's on my agenda for now is to have another sexual session with Angela. After I graduate, I don't know when we will meet again. So, this session would be something we would remember for some time but that is not for today.

I need to rest for the day. Tomorrow would be entirely focused on enjoying each other.
