Chapter 90 The Girl's Kiss
Chapter 90 The Girl's Kiss
Over the next few days, Lin Feng and Chuangxing Design and Xinfeng Electronics Factory communicated repeatedly by phone and email to confirm the final design drawings and process requirements of Scheme C.
The drawings were sent to a patent agency to begin preparing materials and applying for a patent. They were also officially sent to Xinfeng Factory, and mold-making work immediately commenced.
Mold making takes time, and prototype production also takes time.
Wu Wenjie had things to do at his digital stall, and Lin Xiaoqiang had to drive his car, so Lin Feng suddenly found himself with nothing to do.
Lin Xiaowen applied for a day off from the electronics factory to come and spend time with Lin Feng.
Early that morning, she went to the hotel again and knocked on Lin Feng's door.
"Brother Feng, you've been in Shenzhen for several days now, busy with important matters, haven't you gone out to have any fun?" She said, her hands behind her back, her eyes crinkling.
"The weather's nice today, shall I take you somewhere to relax? How about... take a break from work?" she suggested.
Looking at the adorable expression on her face, Lin Feng found it hard to refuse.
Thinking it over, there really wasn't anything urgent, so he smiled and said, "Okay, whatever you say. Where to?"
"Window of the World!" Lin Xiaowen exclaimed immediately. "You can see models of famous buildings from all over the world there. It's huge; you couldn't see it all in a day!"
Lin Feng had an impression of Window of the World, which was one of the earliest theme parks built in Shenzhen and was quite famous in 2004.
"Okay, I'll treat myself to a day off and go on a trip."
The two then took a taxi to Window of the World.
The entrance features a replica of the Eiffel Tower in France, which, although much smaller, is still eye-catching.
After buying a ticket and entering the park, I was indeed greeted with a completely different world inside. There were miniature versions of the pyramids, the Arc de Triomphe, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Taj Mahal, the Sydney Opera House…
These buildings are scattered along the winding road, and many tourists are taking pictures.
Lin Xiaowen had been here once before, but this time she came with Lin Feng, and she seemed very excited, like a little tour guide. At each place, she tried her best to introduce to Lin Feng what kind of place the building was and what its story was.
There were some things she wasn't quite sure about, so she went closer to the information board at the tourist attraction to look at it carefully, and then told Lin Feng about them, her expression serious.
"Look, that's a model of Niagara Falls. The water flow is a bit smaller, but it's quite similar!"
"Over there are windmills and tulip fields in the Netherlands; the colors are so vibrant."
"Brother Feng, we can go to the 'Americas Zone' later. They have a show that simulates a volcanic eruption, several times a day!"
Lin Xiaowen wore a cartoon T-shirt and denim skirt, with white stockings that made her legs look long and slender. Her long hair exuded a faint fragrance, full of the vibrant energy unique to her age.
Lin Feng followed beside her, and when she noticed his gaze fixed on her legs, Lin Xiaowen blushed with embarrassment.
Since his rebirth, Lin Feng's tense nerves, which had been stretched thin from days of running around, negotiating, and thinking, have gradually relaxed.
At noon, they ate at an open-air restaurant in the park. Lin Xiaowen ordered claypot rice, a specialty of Shenzhen, and also ordered a cup of herbal tea for Lin Feng.
During the meal, Lin Xiaowen became more talkative, asking Lin Feng about his university life and the origin of the name "Fengchi Digital".
Lin Feng answered only the questions he could answer briefly. Most of the time, Lin Xiaowen did the talking, recounting her childhood in her hometown, how hard her brother Lin Xiaoqiang worked as a driver, and the interesting stories she had at the electronics factory in Shenzhen.
Lin Feng remarked that Lin Xiaowen had become much more lively and cheerful in just six months since arriving in Shenzhen. She was completely different from the girl he had rescued on the train.
Lin Xiaowen looked at Lin Feng with sparkling eyes: "Sometimes when I see my brother driving so hard, I want to help him more. But I haven't studied much, so I can't really help him. Brother Feng, you know so much, and your business is so amazing. My brother and I both admire you so much!"
Lin Feng looked into Lin Xiaowen's eyes: "No one is born with everything, and no one's life is smooth sailing. Your brother was a soldier, and he's very reliable. You're willing to learn, and you and your brother will have plenty of opportunities in the future."
Lin Xiaowen looked at Lin Feng and said with a smile, "Thank you, Brother Feng."
In the afternoon, the two went to see the "volcanic eruption" performance, where the spewing flames and simulated lava drew gasps from the audience.
Lin Xiaowen was engrossed in the performance and unconsciously moved closer to Lin Feng. When the performance ended and the crowd surged, Lin Feng naturally offered a helping hand to her arm to prevent her from being jostled.
Lin Xiaowen's body stiffened slightly, then relaxed, her ears turning a little red, but she didn't dodge.
It was already evening when we came out of Window of the World.
The afterglow of the setting sun cast a warm golden halo over the miniature landscapes. As the number of visitors gradually dwindled, soft closing music played over the park's loudspeakers.
The two walked to the door and hailed a taxi. While waiting for the taxi, Lin Xiaowen was still immersed in the excitement of the day, whispering to Lin Feng about which building they had just seen was the most interesting and which performance was the best.
She only gradually calmed down after getting into the taxi.
After playing all day, perhaps she was tired. Before long, Lin Xiaowen's head drooped little by little with the slight bumps of the car.
Lin Feng was looking out the window at the street scene as the city lights began to twinkle when he suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder. He turned his head and saw that Lin Xiaowen had fallen asleep, leaning on his shoulder.
A few strands of the girl's long hair fell over his shoulders. Her breathing was even and shallow. Her long eyelashes cast a small shadow under her eyes. Her lips were slightly pouting, and she had shed her daytime liveliness, revealing a tranquility.
Her breath brushed against Lin Feng's neck, causing a slight tingling sensation.
Lin Feng's body stiffened slightly, then relaxed. He maintained his original posture; the weight on his shoulder was light, yet carried a strange warmth.
He raised his arm, gently wrapped it around her back, and loosely put his arm around her shoulder to make her lean more securely.
The girl seemed to sense it, snuggling closer to him and finding a more comfortable position.
The driver glanced in the rearview mirror, a knowing smile appearing on his lips, and quietly turned down the radio volume.
The taxi stopped near the urban village where Lin Xiaowen and her brother rented a place.
Lin Feng gently patted her shoulder: "Xiaowen, we've arrived."
Lin Xiaowen woke up groggily and found herself leaning against Lin Feng's chest. Her face flushed instantly, and she hurriedly sat up straight, frantically smoothing her hair.
"Ah... how did I fall asleep... Brother Feng, did I press on you?"
"It's okay, it's not heavy." Lin Feng smiled, paid the fare, and got out of the car with her.
The streetlights in the urban village are not very bright, and the alleys are narrow and winding.
The two walked side by side, and Lin Xiaowen only wished the road could go on as far as possible. She walked very, very slowly…
Finally, she arrived at the building where she lived, stopped, and turned around.
"Brother Feng..." She looked up at Lin Feng, her eyes shining brightly, "Thank you for spending time with me today, I... am very happy."
"I haven't relaxed like this in a long time, and I had a lot of fun," Lin Feng said gently.
"When...when are you going back to Chengdu?" Lin Xiaowen asked.
"In a few days, after the prototype is finally confirmed and the production contract is signed with Xinfeng Electronics Factory, I should go back," Lin Feng replied.
"Oh..." Lin Xiaowen's voice lowered, her eyes filled with disappointment. She bit her lip, then suddenly stepped forward, stood on tiptoe, and quickly kissed Lin Feng on the cheek.
The touch was fleeting, carrying the softness of a young girl's lips, like a feather gently brushing past.
Lin Feng was stunned.
Lin Xiaowen's face turned bright red, as if it were burning. She didn't dare to look at Lin Feng's expression. She said, "Goodbye, Brother Feng! Be careful on your way!" and then, like a frightened deer, she turned around and ran up the stairs, disappearing around the corner.
Lin Feng subconsciously raised his hand and touched the spot where he had just been kissed, as if it was still warm.
Looking at the empty stairwell, Lin Feng shook his head and chuckled, a complex mix of emotions slowly welling up inside him.
He stood downstairs for a moment before turning around and walking back into the night.
Lin Xiaowen rushed back to her rented room, closed the door, leaned against the door panel, her heart was still pounding, and her face was burning hot.
In the living room, her brother Lin Xiaoqiang was sitting on the old sofa watching TV. Seeing her return looking like this, he casually asked, "You're back? How was your time with Lin Feng?"
"Um, it's...it's alright," Lin Xiaowen mumbled in response, then lowered her head and hurried towards her room.
Lin Xiaoqiang glanced at her flushed cheeks and evasive eyes, raised an eyebrow, and remarked, "You've grown up, haven't you..."
Shaking his head, Lin Xiaoqiang went back to watching his TV program.
Lin Xiaowen hid in her small room, closed the door, threw herself onto the bed, and buried her burning face in the pillow.
My heart was pounding like a rabbit's, a mix of shyness after being bold and an indescribable anticipation.
