Chapter 17 is not an easy task.
Chapter 17 is not an easy task.
When you get really busy, time actually flies by.
This is especially true for the locating vector.
After getting used to running back and forth, she even had time to look at extra Cybertronian knowledge to make sure she gradually filled in the gaps, and she would also go to the arena to watch the Great Celestial's matches.
She would mostly watch from the audience.
Before or after a match, Zhen Tianzun would often wait for him backstage and take the opportunity to look around.
She came so many times that even the guards backstage recognized her.
Sometimes when she walks by with her phone, the other person looks up, doesn't even ask a question, and just steps aside.
Even the vector itself thinks it's outrageous.
Now, when she goes backstage, it's like a homeowner returning to their residential community.
Zhen Tianzun would usually just glance at her, or say that she really had nothing better to do, and then hand her a metal cloth to wipe off the splashes of energy liquid or the condensate from his own body.
She went to the audience seats more often and saw that particular person more frequently.
That guy appeared so frequently that Vector genuinely suspected he was using the arena as a front yard.
It wasn't until later, when she encountered that familiar red, white and black color scheme machine backstage, that she saw a staff member call out to the machine.
"Take him down. We need to deal with the one in H13 quickly. He's seriously injured. His support shaft is bent, and he almost got stuck in the fire capsule."
He didn't look at her, just raised his hand to gesture, and followed the staff member toward the emergency room.
knock down?
She tapped the mobile terminal on her left arm and checked the arena's official website.
...Colosseum emergency medical officer.
No wonder when this guy saw her in that terrible state, his tone was always like he was there assessing whether she was still salvageable.
She had just put away the data page on the terminal when a louder commotion suddenly erupted from the competition area.
The vector was directed to the backstage stands camera.
She initially thought that Zhen Tianzun had once again cleanly and efficiently defeated his opponent, but the next second, what came out of the loudspeaker system was not only cheers and broadcasts, but also the voice of Zhen Tianzun himself.
When did this guy start bringing a megaphone?
His voice was low and deep, carrying a hint of the lingering ferocity from the fight, crashing down through the open metal dome of the arena.
"You weren't born to kneel in the scrap heap waiting to be picked over!"
The audience erupted in a loud bang.
The vector's steps faltered.
She stood there, almost momentarily stunned.
Zhen Tianzun was still talking.
"When have the rules of the Supreme Council ever truly given you a way out?"
"It lets you fight, but that's just so you can survive by stepping on each other, and then it calls that order."
"Since all this thing does is stomp the machine into the mud the whole time, what's the point of keeping it?"
When the last line came down, the cheers in the stadium almost lifted the audience up.
Some remained silent, simply standing there dumbfounded, as if they hadn't yet realized what Zhen Tianzun had so brazenly thrown in front of the entire arena.
As Yin Xiang stood at the edge of the backstage stands, even the flames seemed to tremble.
She had heard from others or event commentators that Zhen Tianzun might say something in the arena, but in the several busy Star Moon events, she had never actually encountered him.
This was the first time she had heard it with her own ears.
This is not the same as talking about it privately or behind closed doors with only a few people.
He stood right in the center of the arena, in front of all the players, and shouted it out loud.
That damn machine is really daring.
The vector stared at the field for a while.
As Zhen Tianzun spoke, he slowly paced around the center of the arena. The sharp blade hidden between the cannon barrel and his arm on his right arm was still there, its cold light flashing along the edge, looking more threatening than his words.
Then she subconsciously glanced up again.
The dark-colored machine still stood at the edge of the observation deck, so quiet that it seemed to exist in another world, separated from the roaring audience below, silently watching what lay below.
She looked at him for a few seconds and was just about to look away when she saw him looking back at her.
Isn't the sensory perception of this machine a bit too exaggerated?
The vector that had been caught paused for a moment, then tentatively waved in a friendly manner.
The other person stared at her for a few seconds.
Then he tilted his head very slightly, so slightly that it was almost just a confirmation gesture.
He then nodded slightly and looked away.
The vector also quickly looked away.
She looked up at the machines high above; they remained silent, simply watching. Some were recording, some were observing, and others, though expressionless, gave her a bad feeling when their gazes fell on the field.
The vector felt a sudden tightness in his chest.
-
The commotion at the arena didn't completely subside even after Zhen Tianzun returned backstage.
When he came in, he was still warm from the battle. His shoulder armor and side waist were covered with some energy liquid that he hadn't had time to wipe off, and a thin layer of cold liquid had condensed on the surface.
Yin Vector stood there and looked at him for two seconds, then consciously went to the side, grabbed a piece of metal fabric, walked over, and stuffed it into his hand.
Zhen Tianzun glanced at her but didn't answer.
Vector could only roll his eyes and take it upon himself to wipe away the splatter marks on the edge of the shoulder armor.
"Did you know what you were saying just now?" she asked as she wiped, her tone sounding casual.
Zhen Tianzun seemed to find the question somewhat amusing and looked down at her.
"Of course I know what I'm saying."
"That's not what I meant." The vectoring motion didn't stop, but his voice lowered. "I meant, have you noticed the way those machines up there are looking at you?"
Zhen Tianzun did not respond immediately.
The vector lowered the piece of fabric a little, wiped away a nearly dried liquid stain on the edge of his forearm armor, and continued, "I don't think their attention is a good thing."
She paused for a moment, then looked up at him.
"The way they're looking at you is starting to look dangerous."
There was a few seconds of silence in the background.
Zhen Tianzun looked at her and suddenly let out a low chuckle.
"What," he said in a nonchalant tone, "you're worried about me now?"
Yin Xiang smirked, his expression one of slight disdain.
"I'm worried about myself," she said. "I'm staying with you now, I still owe you money, and my waiting list is still pending. If you ever put yourself on any list, I'll have to recalculate where I'm staying."
After hearing this, Zhen Tianzun did not immediately retaliate.
A few seconds later, he spoke calmly, "I know they're watching."
The vector action paused for a moment.
Zhen Tianzun raised his hand and finally snatched the metal cloth from her hand, then began to wipe it himself, his tone coldly calm.
"What I want is not just the cheers from below."
He paused for a moment before looking at her again.
"You think what I just said was only for those machines below?"
The vector remained silent.
The core suddenly felt a little heavy.
She suddenly realized that Zhen Tianzun had considered the consequences, and he was very clear about them. Since she was already tied to this line, it was best not to continue treating herself as some kind of outsider.
After a few seconds of silence, she finally spoke.
"Then you'd better not actually put yourself on the liquidation list."
Zhen Tianzun didn't respond to that, but glanced at her.
After staring at him for two seconds, the vector expert simply finished speaking:
"Also, when you have time, teach me some fighting techniques."
She paused for a moment, then murmured:
"Since you're prepared to go this far, I have to leave myself a way out."
Zhen Tianzun stared at her for a few seconds, his eyes showing no obvious emotion, but he lingered a little longer than usual.
Finally, he spoke calmly, "Let's talk after you finish the third repair. Teaching this machine now would be a waste of time."
"I'm going for my third repair tomorrow."
Zhen Tianzun responded.
"Then let's start the day after tomorrow. But don't complain that I went too far later."
