Chapter 148 Series Contracts
Chapter 148 Series Contracts
When Fu Yibai woke up, sunlight was already streaming into the bedroom through the French windows.
A warm body was curled up on each side.
Scarlett's blonde hair was scattered on the pillow, and one of her legs was draped over his lower abdomen.
Annie lay on her side, breathing evenly, her arms wrapped around his waist.
He gently moved Scarlett's leg away and pulled Anne's arm away.
The two women simply shifted, turned over, and continued sleeping.
When Liu Yan came downstairs after taking a shower, she was already sitting in the living room with a laptop and a cup of coffee in front of her.
"Mr. Fu, breakfast is ready."
"Um."
Fu Yibai sat down at the dining table, and Liu Yan brought him fried eggs, bacon, and toast, poured him a glass of orange juice, and then returned to her computer to continue working.
"What's the news from back home?"
"President Zhao sent an email last night, announcing that 'Lurking' will premiere on April 15th, jointly broadcast by Beijing TV and Dragon TV."
Mr. Wang said that he had contacted the space agency, and they agreed to contribute technology as equity, accounting for 10%.
They will send people to help us build a physical space station and satellite models.
"Okay, sure."
It was past ten o'clock when Scarlett and Anne came downstairs one after the other.
Both of them were wearing Fu Yibai's shirts, with bare legs, messy hair, and a sleepy look on their faces.
Annie walked straight to Fu Yibai, sat down on his lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Why are you up so early?"
"You all got up too late."
Scarlett went to the kitchen, poured two cups of coffee, brought them over and placed them on the coffee table, then nestled into the sofa, sipping the coffee slowly from her cup.
Annie buried her face in the crook of his neck and rubbed against him, her voice muffled.
"Are you busy today?"
"Going to the company this afternoon."
"And what about us?"
"You all go about your business."
Anne looked up, glared at him, and then leaned in and bit his lip.
"Hate."
Liu Yan watched from the side, a slight smile playing on her lips, but she remained silent.
At 2 PM, Fu Yibai and Liu Yan reappeared at the franchise film company.
Margaret was already waiting in her office, and she immediately stood up when he came in.
"Boss, Robert Downey Jr. has responded."
Fu Yibai sat down behind his desk.
"How so?"
"His agent is very interested. Donnie himself would like to speak with you in person."
"When?"
"He's in Los Angeles right now, he's available anytime."
Fu Yibai leaned back in his chair and tapped his fingers lightly twice on the table.
"Have him come over tomorrow afternoon."
"OK."
Margaret nodded and handed over another document.
"Warner Bros. has responded as well. They want a share of Gravity."
Fu Yibai took the document and quickly glanced through it.
Warner Bros. offered $20 million for a 20% stake, with Warner Bros. handling distribution outside of North America and China.
"The terms are acceptable. Tell them to sign the contract."
"clear."
Margaret put away the documents with a smile on her face.
"Get the preparations for 'Iron Man' done quickly."
I need a complete budget and shooting plan.
"It's already being done."
The initial team should be assembled this week.
"Margaret, this project is important to me and to Franchise."
I don't want anything to go wrong.
Margaret met his gaze, her expression turning serious.
"Don't worry, boss, I'll keep an eye on it."
February 21st, 1 PM.
In the meeting room of the franchise film company, Fu Yibai met Robert Downey Jr.
Forty-one-year-old Donnie wore a dark blue suit, a white shirt with the collar open, his hair neatly combed, and his beard meticulously trimmed.
He sat on the sofa with his hands on his legs, his posture very cautious.
After all, he had only been out of prison for a short time, and had hardly received any decent opportunities in Hollywood in recent years. Now that someone had extended an olive branch, and even offered him a leading role, he didn't want to mess it up.
When Fu Yibai pushed the door open and went in, Donnie immediately stood up and reached out his hand.
"Director Fu, I have long admired your name."
His hands were dry and strong, and his handshake was just the right amount of pressure, neither overly enthusiastic nor distant.
"sit."
Fu Yibai sat down on the single sofa. Liu Yan brought in two cups of coffee, placed them on the coffee table, and then left, closing the door behind her.
The meeting room fell silent.
Donnie picked up his coffee and took a sip, his gaze falling on Fu Yibai's face with just the right amount of respect, and an undisguised curiosity.
Fu Yibai didn't talk to Donnie directly about the role, but instead had some casual conversation first.
By chatting and observing Donnie's state and personality, he gained a general understanding of the other person and solidified his idea.
Downey is indeed very suitable for the role of Tony Stark.
So Fu Yibai directly summoned Margaret and asked her to prepare a series of contracts.
Downey looked at the contract, his gaze lingering for a few seconds on the "three films" and "salary increase clause".
He didn't say anything, but simply turned to the last page of the contract, confirmed the numbers, and then took out a pen from his suit pocket.
The signing was quick, each stroke precise and decisive, without any hesitation.
After signing the last page, he closed the contract and looked up at Fu Yibai.
Her eyes were a little red.
"Director Fu."
His voice was a little hoarse. He paused and cleared his throat.
"Thanks."
"Go back and prepare well."
You will be notified when you power on the device.
After Donnie left, Fu Yibai briefly glanced through the series of contracts.
He plans to complete the Iron Man trilogy over the next decade, so signing a series of contracts directly to deal with Yi Bai while Downey is in a slump is the most profitable move for him.
Although the contract contains a clause for increasing remuneration, compared to the skyrocketing remuneration after his breakout role, this contract will still save Franchise Entertainment tens of millions of dollars in costs.
