Chapter 303 Jing Tian's Situation
Chapter 303 Jing Tian's Situation
"Feed?"
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, followed by a soft voice, tinged with a cautious probing.
"Brother Yibai, it's me, Jing Tian."
Fu Yibai leaned back in a folding chair outside the photography studio, a slight smile curving his lips.
He hadn't seen the girl in a long time.
The last time we met was at the celebration party for "Gravity". Jing Tian was wearing a pale yellow dress, holding a juice and sitting quietly in the corner, completely out of place with the lively atmosphere of clinking glasses around her.
"Jing Tian, it's been a long time."
Why did you suddenly decide to call me?
"I……"
The voice on the other end of the phone paused, as if organizing its thoughts.
"I'm in Los Angeles."
Fu Yibai raised an eyebrow.
"When did you arrive?"
"I came last August."
Jing Tian's voice was soft, carrying an indescribable emotion.
"The company has arranged several projects for me, including filming in Hollywood."
I just finished filming one movie, and I heard from Sister Binbin that you're filming "Interstellar" in Los Angeles, so... I was wondering if I could visit the set.
Fu Yibai did not answer immediately.
He recalled that Liu Yifei had mentioned to him last year that Starlight Brilliant had planned an international route for Jing Tian, aiming to transform her into an "international Jing".
He just smiled and didn't say anything after hearing that.
This is a path not everyone can walk.
Fan Binbin was able to succeed because he had access to franchised film companies, had films of the caliber of "Inception" and "Gravity" to back him up, and had the entire Chenxi team working behind the scenes.
Jing Tian's qualifications are not bad, but her team clearly does not understand that Hollywood cannot be won over simply by throwing money at it.
"Brother Yibai?"
Jing Tian's voice pulled him back to reality, carrying a hint of unease.
"Is it inconvenient? If it is, then never mind, I was just asking..."
"There's nothing inconvenient about it."
Fu Yibai interrupted her.
"Here you go. I'll send you the address."
"real?"
Jing Tian's voice suddenly brightened, but she quickly suppressed it, as if she felt that she had overreacted.
"Then...then I'll go tomorrow?"
"Um.
Call me when you arrive, and I'll have someone meet you at the door.
"good!"
After hanging up the phone, Fu Yibai put his phone back in his pocket.
Fu Yibai stood up, stretched his stiff neck, and walked back into the photography studio.
"continue."
The next day, May 13, the weather in Los Angeles was sunny as usual.
Fu Yibai is filming scenes in the studio depicting the Eternal spaceship traversing a wormhole.
The group looked out at the distorted starry sky through the porthole.
Fan Binbin raised his hand and reached out to a hand covered in green cloth.
Later, a distorted human figure will be created there.
"Card."
Fu Yibai put down the walkie-talkie.
"This one is approved."
He turned around, preparing to have the lighting crew adjust the lighting for the next scene, when his phone vibrated in his pocket.
A message from Jing Tian.
"Brother Yibai, I'm at the door."
Fu Yibai handed the walkie-talkie to the assistant director beside him and walked out of the studio.
The May sun in Los Angeles was already quite scorching.
The parking lot in front of the photography studio was bleached white by the sun, and the air was filled with heat waves and the long, thin shadows cast by palm trees in the distance.
A black van was parked at the entrance.
The car door opened, and Jing Tian jumped out.
She wore a white short-sleeved T-shirt, light blue jeans, and white canvas shoes. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, and she looked fresh and clean, like a college student.
"Brother Yibai."
She called out, her voice softer than on the phone, the last syllable rising slightly, carrying a hint of grievance, as if she dared not show her grievance too obviously.
Fu Yibai walked over and stopped in front of her.
"You look even more beautiful."
"No way!"
Jing Tian lowered her head shyly.
"It seems to be too high."
But you're a bit too thin right now.
Fu Yibai reached out and gently patted her on the head. The gesture was natural, like a brother to a sister, or an elder to a junior.
Jing Tian's body stiffened slightly, then she raised her head and met his gaze.
There was a glint of tears in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it.
"Filming is tiring."
She said, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Hollywood directors are incredibly demanding, even more so than you."
Fu Yibai looked at her but didn't expose her.
He turned and walked into the photography studio, with Jing Tian following behind him, her steps lighter than when she came.
The moment Jing Tian stepped into the photography studio, she stopped in her tracks.
She tilted her head back, her gaze shifting from the massive green screen to the dense array of lighting equipment overhead, from the interior of the Eternal spaceship to the camera adjusting its orbit. Her lips parted slightly, and the watery light in her eyes was reflected in the studio lights like scattered glitter.
"Is this the set for Interstellar?"
Her voice carried an overwhelming sense of awe.
"It's much bigger than the studio I used to shoot at Universal Studios."
"The two hundred million dollar budget wasn't wasted."
Fu Yibai turned his head and glanced at her.
"If you want to watch, then watch. Don't hold back."
Jing Tian's lips curved slightly, and then she truly stopped suppressing herself, her gaze wandering around the studio like a bird just released from its cage.
