Chapter 825 - Slaughter Jurisdiction
Chapter 825 - Slaughter Jurisdiction
The Slaughter Faction’s final defensive line bristled with anti-World life form equipment arranged in dense formation. Any World life forms that entered its range would face a barrage of heavy fire. On top of that, every World life form under the Slaughter Faction’s command was stationed there.
Even with eighteen World Bone Dragons and the World units from his divine realm, Han Wu still felt his strength was insufficient against the final defensive line. It was like a football match where the opposing team had crammed every single player in front of the goal. How was anyone supposed to score?
“This is going to be tough,” Han Wu said.
Upon hearing that, Jing Jing stepped forward and stood beside him. “My God, I will stand with you until the very last moment!”
Han Wu glanced at her and smiled. “You make it sound like I’m about to die in battle. That’s not what I meant. What I want to do is break through that final defensive line without taking casualties. That is what’s going to be tough. What do you think?”
“My God, what do you plan to do?” Jing Jing asked.
“I’ll start with a distraction to catch them off guard and see what happens. If it works, I’ll move in myself,” Han Wu said, opening the gate to his Microcosm.
He summoned two of his core followers: the Dark Locust and the revived Bow God Bart.
“You two, try to destroy the anti-World life form equipment on that defensive line,” Han Wu ordered.
Both nodded and obeyed immediately. Bart had the Void Hunter Catalyst, which let him open spatial tunnels and teleport with ease. He started gathering energy while searching for the correct location.
“Get ready!” Bart called out.
Dark Locust prepared. The moment the tunnel opened, Dark Locust dove straight through and appeared behind the defensive line. The moment he emerged, a nearby World life form destroyed the spatial tunnel. Immediately afterward, dozens of powerful attacks locked onto Dark Locust and fired simultaneously.
More than World attacks combined would have threatened even Han Wu himself, much less Dark Locust. He understood his mission clearly. Before those attacks could land, he detonated himself.
A massive explosion ripped through the final defensive line. A dark mushroom cloud erupted into the sky and blasted open a gap in the formation, throwing everything into brief chaos.
Han Wu seized the opportunity and barked, “Bart, open the tunnel!”
Bart opened another tunnel. Han Wu barged through it and immediately activated his strongest state. “Demon King Transformation Stage Three, Fetterbane Dragonforge!”
A 100,000-meter-tall figure appeared. Monstrous demonic pressure darkened the sky and shook the earth. Countless cannon barrels appeared across Han Wu’s frame as he drew energy from every Microcosm he possessed before unleashing a barrage in every direction. In that singular moment, Han Wu became a Subcosm weapon platform!
Not a single World life form that had survived Dark Locust’s Self-Detonation escaped. Han Wu’s barrage tore every one of them apart. The anti-World life form equipment scattered across the battlefield was reduced to scrap metal.
The entire battle lasted three seconds. It was enough time for the Butcher to react. He sensed the annihilation of his faction’s powerful units and the destruction of the anti-World life form equipment almost instantly. The rage inside him was powerful enough to burn the world down.
“Die!” The Butcher’s roar thundered through the air. His terrifying God King aura erupted as a massive eight-faced war hammer, 10,000 meters in diameter, smashed toward Han Wu’s colossal Fetterbane Dragonforge form.
Han Wu had just exhausted the energy supplied by his Microcosms and could only endure the attack. The moment the hammer struck, a sharp crack rang out. His dark gold metal muscles fractured beneath the impact. Dark gold blood sprayed through the air as he crashed to the ground.
The Butcher’s single blow had inflicted severe injuries, but he had no intention of stopping. The eight-faced war hammer was the physical manifestation of his Divine Authority, and he used it as a surprise attack. What came next was his true ultimate move.
“Slaughter!” His roar tore through the battlefield. A torrent of crimson blood erupted from the Butcher’s body, and an endless sea of blood pulled Han Wu into a special, sealed space.
Inside, the Slaughter God King sat upon a throne of bones and corpses piled 1 million meters high. From atop it, he looked down at Han Wu’s comparatively tiny 100,000-meter frame as though staring at a child.
“You should feel proud. You’re the first I’ve chosen to kill with my Divine Jurisdiction,” the Butcher declared.
Han Wu realized how dangerous his situation was. He had never expected the Butcher’s Divine Jurisdiction to be a hundred times more powerful than anything he had faced before, whether from the minor God Kings or the assassin with the Concealment Jurisdiction.
This sea of blood, bones, and corpses filled him with weakness and drained his strength. Even his Subcosm combat power couldn’t resist the influence. This was what a truly powerful Divine Jurisdiction felt like. Beneath such an overwhelming power, everything else became meaningless.
“Die!” the Butcher commanded.
Endless blood rose from the sea, forming into blades and swords, while countless corpses rose from the mountain of bones, armed themselves, and charged toward Han Wu.
Under the Slaughter Jurisdiction, these corpses and blades were undying and indestructible. They would fight Han Wu until he drew his very last breath.
Han Wu had no intention of giving up, so he activated his Conversion and Duel Jurisdictions. Every centimeter of steel muscle across the Fetterbane Dragonforge surged with fighting spirit.
Fight. Keep fighting. As long as I still breathe, I will fight to the end!
At that moment, Han Wu was like a candle. As long as it burned, it would continue radiating light and heat. Meanwhile, the Butcher’s Divine Jurisdiction resembled an endless darkness that swallowed every trace of light the candle produced.
The darkness was limitless, but the light was not. Han Wu could only hope to find a crack in the Butcher’s defense before his own strength ran out.
Outside, Jing Jing only saw Han Wu vanish the instant he broke through the final defensive line. She didn’t need time to realize that the Slaughter Faction had used some technique to hide him. Every second he remained out of sight only mounted the danger he faced.
She had no idea how to break the technique, nor did she know what method the Slaughter Faction had used. However, she understood one thing clearly. If she wiped out the Slaughter Faction, it would certainly help free Han Wu.
Jing Jing unleashed her full power and opened her divine realm. A tsunami of skeleton soldiers poured into the final defensive line and pressed straight for the Slaughter Faction’s command post.
Along the way, she expended enormous amounts of Divine Power and converted all of the fallen World life forms into her own skeleton soldiers. Though their strength declined after reanimation, with some even falling below the World rank, they still served a purpose.
Inside the command post, the Butcher was physically present, but his full awareness had been immersed in his domain. He was using his Divine Jurisdiction to trap Han Wu while fighting him directly. He had no time to concern himself with what was happening outside.
The other Major Gods saw Jing Jing unleash another flood of skeleton soldiers and quickly responded with their own strongest techniques to counter them. In an instant, powerful units imbued with light, lightning, fire, and other attributes specifically meant to suppress the undead emerged.
Even the terrain itself was terraformed. Holy mountains and blessed grounds imbued with light, lightning, and flame attributes were summoned across the battlefield. Merely stepping onto them was enough to purify the skeletons.
Under the combined assault of so many Major Gods, Jing Jing’s skeleton horde tactic proved ineffective. Her defeat drew closer with every passing moment.
“God, I am not strong enough,” Jing Jing muttered in despair.
