Chapter 75 75: The Crimson Lizard King
Chapter 75 75: The Crimson Lizard King
"If you don't come soon, we're done for!" Bradley exclaimed with excitement, immediately shouting in the guild channel.
Madman: "Can you even make it in four hours? Most of us have died seven or eight times already, and the revival penalty is going to be long."
"Don't panic. Go find a stronghold and hold it down as best as you can, just try to stall until I get there."
"Alright! We'll go all in!"
Madman exhausted all his tactics, unable to find hope for a comeback, but he believed in the unpredictability of a certain 'crazy' player—he was confident that Orson would have something up his sleeve!
"Everyone, stop AFKing! Quickly check the mini-map and gather at my position!"
Madman shouted with all his might. He had never taken such a big hit during his time in military school; he couldn't swallow his frustration now!
Texas Musk: "I don't know what to say. What use would a few people be?"
Iron Cavalry: "To be honest, we should wait for the next stronghold battle. There's no hope now."
"Shut the hell up! Iron Turtle, you coward! If you're afraid, just leave now!" Bradley retorted angrily.
Upon hearing Bradley's outburst, the other guild members fell silent.
Iron Cavalry, though, looked helpless. They were stuck in an entirely passive position, and now, even with the guild leader online, morale was at an all-time low. They knew that if they showed any sign of weakness, multiple guilds would jump on them.
"Don't worry, Bradley. Let's follow the guild leader's instructions—just hold a stronghold if we can," Madman said, trying to calm Bradley down. They had to make the most of this one opportunity.
Madman: "Don't lose heart. The guild leader has said it—whether we die or kill, we still get paid. You really want to miss out on that?"
At these words, a smile appeared on the faces of Iron Cavalry and the others.
That's right!
Even if they died, it wasn't a loss. There was no point in dwelling on whether they'd be crushed or not.
The Godslayer members quickly went into action. Meanwhile, Orson appeared in front of the blacksmith's shop.
"You have triggered the hidden quest—The Untold Legend!"
"Find the Holy Soul Seal: Heavenly Spirit's Right Eye."
"Find the Divine Soul Seal: Titan's Heart."
"Clues: Unknown."
"Failure Penalty: Unknown."
Orson was taken aback as soon as he logged in. A new quest had appeared in his task list—The Untold Legend.
"This is impossible!"
Orson's scalp tingled. He hadn't been online recently, and had not gone through any special events—so how did he trigger the follow-up quest for the Super God-grade Soul Seal?
And on top of that, this was one of the highest difficulty quests in Infinite Dimensions! Was this something even a player could complete? Orson felt suspicious.
An unease began to gnaw at him, especially considering the scene earlier that morning—the black-haired boy had said it was a gift for him.
"Damn! This bastard really logged in!"
"The Magic Suppression Cage effect should have worn off. What do we do?"
"Quick, inform Ziyue the guild leader—The match-fixer's back online!"
A few barking voices interrupted Orson's thoughts as he noticed more than ten SSR gold farming guild members standing around him, not even participating in the stronghold battle.
These were just like the gold farmers from his past life—players from SSR who weren't valued by the guild. Their purpose was simply to serve the big shots and ensure they had food on their plate.
Orson knew well how hard the gold farmers worked, and he didn't want to make their lives any more difficult.
Crimson Lizard King: Level 30
Elite Creature
HP: 300,000
Skills: Rapid Speed, Flame Controller, Claw Rip
The Crimson Lizard King opened its mouth and spat a brown sticky liquid. Before the liquid even hit the ground, it turned into a terrifying fire pillar. The heat caused the ground to crack.
Orson smiled calmly. The skill was similar to the Dragonkin's signature breath attack—just much weaker.
He activated Whisper of the Wind, summoning a Flame Dragon.
The Crimson Lizard King reacted quickly, dodging the Flame Dragon's strike and circling overhead, attempting to incinerate Orson.
Orson sidestepped the fire pillar, and with the aid of Whisper of the Wind, began kiting the creature.
Frustrated, the Crimson Lizard King charged down, using its Claw Rip skill.
"Wind God's Sigh."
Waves of green energy spread, and the wind quickly intensified, forming a green whirlwind that pulled the Crimson Lizard King from the air.
Smash Damage -20,000!
The Crimson Lizard King crashed to the ground with a scream. Orson immediately backed up and continued hitting it with basic attacks.
A gray chain appeared, and Chaos Chain triggered, delivering double true damage for five seconds!
True Damage Double Crit -2,200!
True Damage Burn Double Crit -9,300!
Under the berserk damage, the Crimson Lizard King was reduced to low health.
At this point, Orson suddenly stopped and summoned a blood contract, which appeared in mid-air like a magical contract.
This was part of the Basic Beastmastery he obtained from Veijander—basically, it was a Beast Taming Contract.
Seeing the blood contract, the Crimson Lizard King let out an angry roar. It spouted a fire pillar to destroy the contract before it could fully materialize.
"Your Beast T
aming level is too low. The success rate for taming an elite boss is under 3%."
The system message appeared, but Orson didn't avoid it. He activated two Solar Shields to block the damage.
The higher the level of the monster, the harder it was to tame. Orson had anticipated this, but he had the patience to exhaust the Crimson Lizard King.
"Mounting Tool No. 1, you're not listening."
Orson shrugged helplessly, pulling back and waiting for the Crimson Lizard King to passively recover its health.
When it reached 20,000 HP, Orson hit it with a basic attack. The Chaos Fire spread, and the giant lizard howled in pain.
Another blood contract flew toward it, only to be destroyed again.
This continued for half an hour, and the Crimson Lizard King was left with no mana, yet it still couldn't pose a threat to Orson.
"Mounting Tool No. 1, this is your last chance. Make the most of it."
Orson's patience was wearing thin. If it didn't work, he would just tame a smaller elite monster, where the success rate was higher.
The blood contract appeared again. This time, the Crimson Lizard King hesitated. As a Flame Controller, it had been tortured so much that its body was scorched, with no good flesh left.
It was humiliated but had to admit: the human in front of it had the strength to crush it!
