Chapter 245 245 Bond
Chapter 245 245 Bond
And truly, if Evelyn was on Victoria's level or even stronger than Victoria there was no doubt she was a genius, Roman couldn't argue with that, but he also couldn't keep this up till morning.Evelyn faced away and this time she closed her eyes, Roman knew she wasn't going to sleep, this was just a way to get him to continue.
Roman let out a sigh and stretched his hands. Instead of trying to figure out the trick behind mana efficiency, he focused on his mana control disregarding the wastes.
Roman continued with one magic circle after another, he even switched it up, using different spells except rune magic. Just before the spell would be cast, Roman would stop the spell.
He continued that way for about 30 minutes, and by then he was already burned out, not from mana loss but from sheer tiredness. Even though he woke up at night, he wanted to go back to sleep.
Evelyn who was beside him had moved from the spot, and to Roman it looked like she was asleep but he knew in his head she wouldn't fall asleep; still, he was tired and stopped to rest.
The moment he lay his back on the wall Evelyn opened her eyes and turned towards him, "Why are you stopping?"
'Shit...'
"I'm tired, turns out just conjuring magic circles is this tiring, I'll just rest for five minutes, ten minutes at most then I'll continue, that way I'll be more..."
"On your feet, I wanted you to feel more relaxed so you'll be able to focus, but it seems you don't want that, so on your feet, and don't stop unless I tell you to" Evelyn replied.
From her tone alone Roman could tell she was serious, something she and Victoria had in common during training, Victoria was extra strict, not that he didn't like it, but it was tiring sometimes.
Roman stood up looking at Evelyn. He didn't say a single word but Evelyn knew he was pouting. Still, she didn't spare him; she knew the potential Roman wielded and she didn't want it to go to waste. This was just the start, she was going to be even more strict during his actual training.
Once again Evelyn closed her eyes.

'Magic circle... Magic circle... Magic circle' Roman mumbled in his head. Right now, his body was moving on instinct due to the amount of repetition.
It has been almost an hour and Roman looked to see Evelyn's eyes still closed. Right now his stamina was not at the top of the list, the problem was his legs.
He had been standing for an hour, and his legs were just moments away from turning into jelly, but still he didn't stop, he wasn't even concerned with mana control now. He just wanted this to be over.
Evelyn finally opened her eyes and a smile formed on Roman's face as he stopped, but Evelyn wasn't looking in his direction as she stood up from the ground.
Roman turned his head to see Victoria walking towards them, and now he remembered she just wanted to pick something up, and it had been almost 3 hours since she left.
"You can stop, I thought you would have given up earlier to be honest," Evelyn spoke as she turned towards Roman.
Roman let out a grunt as he collapsed to the ground, "Finally."
"It seems Sonia was telling the whole truth," Victoria spoke as she stepped closer. Evelyn could already tell Victoria had news, which was the reason she stood up in the first place.
"What happened?" Evelyn asked as Roman turned towards them still on the ground.
"The artifact of elemental magic, The Tempest Core has chosen a wielder," Victoria spoke.
Evelyn's eyes widened, and Roman stood up from the ground. The Tempest Core hadn't chosen a user for hundreds of years now. It did choose someone a while back but all they had were books written by the wielder; nobody alive now witnessed it.
"Who did it choose?" Evelyn asked
"Take a wild guess," Victoria replied with a smile.
Roman had no idea who the artifact could have chosen, he only knew the girls in the academy, and it couldn't be somebody from his class, so it was probably from the army.
"Just spill, I don't have the strength to run through all the names in my head"
"Firefrost," Victoria replied.
'Huh!! Ava... Wait, the artifact chose Ava... I mean it's not that surprising... What the fuck am I even saying? Why did the artifact choose her? I know she's talented but how would she help in the fight against the Demon Queen?'
"What happened?" Evelyn asked and Victoria shrugged.
"The details are still a little unclear, but apparently the artifact pulled itself away and broke through the barrier before any of the guards could realize. I was on my way back when I saw the guards chasing something after something. I had no idea it was the artifact until I was right where the students were"
"So it bonded itself with Ava?"
"Yes, it's in her neck and any attempt to put it away will only result in the artifacts flying straight back at her, so we can assume it's bonded with her," Victoria spoke with a tired tone.
"So now we're stuck babysitting another student" Evelyn spoke as she turned towards Roman who had a smile on his face.
"It's safe to say the rest of the artifacts would soon choose their wielder. We can use that as a timeline. If the artifacts are choosing wielders in response to the Demon Queen breaking the seal, then we can assume that until all the artifacts have wielders, she's still trapped," Victoria spoke.
"That's true, but now that raising another problem, if the rest of the artifacts choose students to be their wielder, there's no way we're sending them to war right in demon territory," Evelyn spoke.
"You don't have a choice," Sonia spoke as she pushed the door open.
