Chapter 81 Drawing Pie and Porridge
Chapter 81 Drawing Pie and Porridge
After the incense burned for a while, Ancestral Master floated out, looking rather displeased. "What do you want?" he asked, still upset about the fact that Zhouzhou refused the medicine shop and hospital, thinking it was a waste of money.
Ignoring his grumpy mood, Zhouzhou asked directly, "Did you see what happened at the hospital today, Ancestral Master?"
Giving a slight nod, Ancestral Master responded, "Yes, I did. What's your take on it?"
"Those people all carried curses and bad energy, so it couldn't have been just an ordinary car accident," Zhouzhou stated.@@@@
"That's correct. Continue," Ancestral Master approved.
Zhouzhou rubbed her chin as she spoke, "I think it's likely that they came into contact with something, or accidentally broke some taboo, which brought the curse upon them."
"Interesting. You're right on target," Ancestral Master complimented, stroking his beard. It wasn't surprising that his most talented disciple in centuries was so sensitive and perceptive.
However, Zhouzhou sighed, "But I don't know anything specific about what it could be."
"No problem. Don't you have an uncle who's a police officer? Just ask him to investigate for you," Ancestral Master suggested.
"Can Second Elder Uncle find the answer?" Zhouzhou blinked curiously.
"He might be able to find a clue, but this matter is not something they can solve. The legal procedures still need to be followed, as it would be seen as promoting superstition otherwise," Ancestral Master explained.
Zhouzhou responded, "But aren't we already a part of the unknown sciences?"
"Rubbish!" Ancestral Master's face turned grim. "We are just unknown sciences, not superstitious beliefs."
Zhouzhou could tell that Ancestral Master was plagiarizing Eldest Brother's words and looked at him meaningfully. Ancestral Master coughed a bit before continuing, "Never mind that for now. You'll see when the time comes. You've got plenty of work to do, as you just pushed out billions today. Hurry up and work hard to earn back that money for me."
Zhouzhou suddenly understood why Ancestral Master kept looking at her secretly. "Ancestral Master, the gift you gave me is too precious. I still don't have enough money now, so I can't afford a gift of equal value. If I do, it will create more karma and become troublesome."
It was not necessary for a disciple to give a gift of equal value to their master.
However, seeing Zhouzhou's earnest face, Ancestral Master thought for a moment before deciding not to push the matter further.
Zhouzhou was right - excessive debts were bad for cultivation, and it would be unwise to risk it. Realizing that, Ancestral Master didn't say anything more.
Feeling relieved, Zhouzhou patted her chest and said, "Don't worry, Ancestral Master. I will definitely work hard to earn back the money and restore your glory as the most brilliant Ancestral Master."
Hearing that, Ancestral Master was pleased. Yes, he was the most brilliant!
As a child, he probably didn't have much at stake either. The others didn't say anything else.
After dinner, as Zhouzhou was about to leave, Qin Er suddenly ran over and asked, "Zhouzhou, can I order some talismans from you?"
"Hmm?" Zhouzhou blinked, "You want to buy them wholesale?"
"Exactly!" Qin Er's eyes sparkled with hope. He had it all figured out; he wanted to become a middleman and earn the price difference!
"I'll buy from you and then sell them, and I'll give you a cut of the profits."
After all, it was his little cousin who did all the hard work.
When the topic of money came up, Zhouzhou's spirits lifted. However, she was still worried about the hospital situation, so she handed all the talismans in her bag to Qin Er and said, "You sell these for now, we'll talk more when we get back tonight."
"Okay," Qin Er replied happily, immediately losing interest in going to school. After all, making money was much more fun than studying.
No, he corrected himself, he needed to get an education. Without higher education, he was limited in what he could do. Currently, he could only work as a salesperson, and he had to rely on his younger cousin. This was still just a job. Workers couldn't make as much money as bosses.
He needed to start his own company.
With this thought in mind, he rushed back to his car and obediently went to school.
Zhouzhou followed Qin Ze to the hospital, where Liu Hanqiu was waiting for her at the entrance. Liu's face looked haggard, and he seemed anxious. Upon seeing Zhouzhou, he exclaimed, "Master, you were right, three more patients with similar head injuries from car accidents were brought in last night."
"What?" Zhouzhou frowned. "Take me to see them."
"Okay," Liu Hanqiu immediately led her inside, explaining the situation as they walked.
These were similar to the ones from yesterday, with curses and evil spirits on their bodies.
Zhouzhou approached and checked their pulse. They had head injuries; it would take a few more days for them to wake up.
If she waited any longer, more people would get injured. She thought for a moment and asked, "Do they all have something in common? Have they touched something similar?"
Liu Hanqiu looked confused. "That's for the police to find out. We can only treat the patients."
Zhouzhou nodded with a heavy heart. She was about to call Qin Xu to ask about it when she heard his voice.
"We found out. They all went to Shixi Mountain."
