Chapter 369 The Gift
Chapter 369 The Gift
Two hours later, the mother and daughter lay sprawled on the ground, devoid of any semblance.
Zhouzhou, with a slight protrusion of her belly, let out a small burp, her chubby paws waving weakly. "I can't eat anymore,"she sighed.
The ingredients brought by the shop assistant had been completely devoured, all finding their way into their stomachs.
"I'm done too," An Ya stared blankly at the ceiling, almost envious of starving ghosts, at least they wouldn't have to experience the sensation of their stomachs about to burst.
In truth, she felt that gifts bought with money, as long as they were carefully chosen, were not perfunctory. They didn't necessarily have to be handmade.
"No, not yet," Zhouzhou struggled to get up, pulling out a pill from her pocket and popping it into her mouth.
Alarmed, An Ya asked, "What are you eating, Zhouzhou?"
Didn't she keep poison there?
Zhouzhou chewed on the pill, saying, "It's a digestive aid pill that I've newly researched. It aids digestion, and I'll be hungry again after a while."
So miraculous?
An Ya breathed a sigh of relief and became curious. "Let me try it too."
"Sure, sure," Zhouzhou drew a circle on the ground and brewed a bottle of digestive aid pills for her.
After swallowing one, An Ya soon felt less bloated. Her eyes lit up, and she rolled up her sleeves, saying, "Let's continue!"
"Okay!" Zhouzhou also got up from the ground, humming as they continued. With a slogan in her mouth, "Eat after working, work after eating, as long as you don't die from eating too much, then eat like there's no tomorrow!"
An Ya: "..."
With Zhouzhou's rapid-action digestive pills, they ate dozens more cakes, finally managing to finish a passable one before dark.
Looking at the cake in front of her, An Ya collapsed on the ground, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Fortunately, they didn't have to make the cake base themselves. If they had to start from scratch, they would have wasted so many ingredients.
Zhouzhou also sat on the ground, looking at the cake and smiling happily. "Finally done!"
After a moment's thought, she felt it wasn't enough.
It seemed like something was missing.
She tilted her head and thought, yes, words!
The other cakes all had words on them, and some even had beautiful little patterns. She wanted to draw too!
With that thought, she quickly got up, holding strawberry sauce, and started drawing on the cake.
Before An Ya could react, Zhouzhou had finished.
"Mom, you go in first. I'll join later," at the doorstep, Zhouzhou winked at An Ya, "I want to surprise sharp tongue uncle."
"Okay." An Ya covered her mouth and chuckled before floating inside.
Just as Lingfeng finished the last dish and saw her, he asked in confusion, "Where's Zhouzhou?"
"She's outside. Close your eyes."
Hearing this, Lingfeng raised an eyebrow slightly. Was the gift coming?
He couldn't help but feel expectant, obediently closing his eyes, unable to resist guessing what it might be.
Just as he was thinking, he heard a rustling sound.
After a while, Zhouzhou said, "Okay."
Lingfeng quickly opened his eyes and saw the thing on the coffee table, his smile freezing on his face.
What on earth is this?
Before Zhouzhou could notice, blinking excitedly, "Sharp tongue uncle, this is the cake my mom and I made for you. Do you like it?"
Lingfeng looked at the cake in front of him, feeling somewhat confused. Should he say he liked it or not?
Seeing his expression, An Ya cleared her throat. Their craftsmanship was indeed lacking, plus Zhouzhou's artistic touch had made the already unattractive cake even uglier.
She had to pull out her trump card, "Zhouzhou, why don't you introduce what you've drawn?"
Zhouzhou nodded, pointing at the drawing on top, "It's the three of us. This is..."
Before she finished, An Ya turned to Lingfeng, brandishing her trump card, "There's no Qin here, just the three of us."
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Lingfeng's eyes lit up, "I love this gift!"
Rarely did his little girl only think of him and not bring Qin Lie along.
He carefully examined the cake. Hmm, it actually looked quite nice.
He wondered why he felt so fond of this cake as soon as he saw it.
This was his little girl's love!
He couldn't bear to eat it. Instead, he took out his phone and took a photo, posting it for the first time on his social media.
As soon as he posted it, several comments instantly appeared below.
Opening them, they were all filled with question marks, asking what on earth this was.
He scoffed, a bunch of people with no taste.
As he was about to close his phone, he suddenly noticed a few more messages, and his gaze froze...
