After Descending the Mountain, Seven Big Brothers Spoil Me

Chapter 383 Confrontation

Chapter 383 Confrontation

"Let's go find him." Zhouzhou slung her bag over her shoulder, pulling Qin Dong along. However, her collar was suddenly grabbed from behind. In the next moment, she found herself lifted into someone's embrace.

Qin Lie gazed at her with a helpless expression. "It's already late. You're still going out?"

Zhouzhou glanced outside and noticed the darkened sky. Yet, she felt uneasy.

"I'm worried about Third Brother," she confessed to Qin Dong. "What if that person hides or makes another move? In seven days, they might harm him."

She didn't want that. She wished for her family to be safe and sound.

Qin Dong's eyes flickered, his lips pressed into a thin line, but he said nothing.

Qin Lie looked at his third nephew, pondered for a moment, and then set Zhouzhou down. "I'll take you there, but do you know where that person lives?"

"I know." Little Wang, who had remained silent since learning the truth, finally spoke up, her eyes filled with hatred.

For ten years after her death, she had blamed her misfortune on herself, living without a care. But now she realized her life had been stolen from her. How could she not be angry?

"I know where he lives," she said with deliberate clarity.

Noticing the rising malevolence in Little Wang, Zhouzhou quickly grasped her hand and affixed a talisman to her. "Don't be afraid, Sister Wang. I will avenge you."

Little Wang felt a calming clarity wash over her. She looked down at Zhouzhou, her eyes softening.

Without Zhouzhou, she might have remained a confused spirit, unable to reincarnate, eventually fading away, forgotten by all.

Reflecting on this, pain welled up in her eyes.

Seeing her expression, Zhouzhou felt a pang of sympathy. She nuzzled her cheek against Little Wang's hand before turning to Qin Lie. "Daddy, let's go."

Grandma Qin was also worried about the children going out so late, but her concern for her grandson's safety outweighed her hesitation.

She agreed, cautioning, "Be careful on the road. If you encounter anything you can't handle, come back immediately and we'll discuss it with your senior brothers."

Zhouzhou shook her head earnestly. "My senior brothers aren't as skilled as I am. I'm the one who draws their talismans."

That old man had caused her so much harm; there was no way she could let him off easily.

Zhouzhou nodded and agreed without hesitation, "Alright, but remember, Sister Wang, you must not take his life. If you do, it will create a karmic bond, which won't be good for you."

Little Wang's eyes gleamed with understanding. "So long as I don't kill him?"

Zhouzhou grinned innocently, revealing a row of small white teeth. "Yes, leaving him with a breath means you haven't killed him."

Understanding the balance she needed to maintain, Little Wang finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She couldn't just scare him without laying a hand on him—that would be too frustrating. But leaving him alive to suffer? That she could do.

With determination, Little Wang floated inside. The place reeked of incense, but not the kind used in proper temples or Taoist sanctuaries. This was a strange, nauseating scent.

Old Li knelt before a twisted statue, muttering incomprehensibly. The scene was unsettling.

Disgusted, Little Wang blew a breath towards the shrine, intending to knock the statue over and preferably break it. Anything the old man worshipped couldn't be good.

However, as soon as she blew, a sudden black light shot towards her. Startled, she darted back, crying out, "Zhouzhou, help me!"

"Coming!" Zhouzhou dashed in with her peach wood sword, lightly tapping the ground with her foot and leaping forward. With a swift swing of her sword, she dispersed the black light.

Little Wang sighed in relief and crouched behind Zhouzhou, complaining, "That wretched man found help. He's worshiping something evil in there. It's terrifying."

"It's alright," Zhouzhou said, patting her head with a commanding air. "Don't be afraid, Sister Wang. You have assistant too."

"Yes!" Little Wang stood up, feeling like she was eight feet tall. With such a powerful ally, there was nothing to fear.

"Let's go and deal with them!"

"Let's go!" Zhouzhou echoed, marching forward with determination.

Just as she was about to kick the door open, it swung inward. The old man they had seen earlier, now looking eerie with a mix of deathly aura and vitality, stood there.

Zhouzhou's face contorted with anger. That vitality belonged to her third brother!
