Chapter 672 Mundane Zhou
Chapter 672 Mundane Zhou
The little chubby girl's antics had left Lu Ye bemused. He scratched her chubby double chin, remarking disdainfully, "Where did you learn such words?"
Zhouzhou blinked her innocent eyes at him, her little face nestling into his palm, turning playfully.
Ye Lingfeng sauntered over and sat down, crossing his legs. "If we can't trace it, it must be Qin Yan who taught her."@@@@
The Qin family was known for their composed demeanor, except for Qin Yan. He was always lackadaisical, making it no surprise he would say such things.
Upon hearing the name, Lu Ye's mind conjured an image of Qin Yan. When in the Qin household, Lu Ye seldom spoke but had sharp observation skills.
Everyone else sat upright with minimal expressions, except for one who sprawled with exaggerated expressions, his thoughts plainly visible on his face.
That could only be Qin Yan. Clearly, not someone who would teach a child well.
With a look of disdain, Lu Ye pinched Zhouzhou's soft cheeks. "Don't pick up bad habits from dubious people."
If she hadn't been so cute, even Wolf King might have kicked her away for those words.
Sensing his disdain, Zhouzhou looked at him confusedly, tilting her little head, her chubby paws fidgeting.
Lu Ye, unable to resist her cuteness, hugged the little girl tightly. The wolf king also extended a paw to pat Zhouzhou, emitting a gentle "awoo."
Hearing the sound, Zhouzhou turned and pounced on Wolf King, pressing it down, her little neck stretching as she babbled, ending with a kiss on its forehead.
The wolf king knew she must have been repeating those same words. It shifted its paws, contemplating throwing the little troublemaker away. Zhouzhou, oblivious to being disliked, giggled, her laughter infectious.
Seeing this, even Wolf King's gaze softened. Fine, she could stay.
Ye Lingfeng watched this scene, marveling. Lu Ye and his wolves were famously reclusive on the island, isolating themselves from everyone.
Yet, Zhouzhou had unwittingly joined them. It was quite miraculous.
But not hard to understand—his daughter was so adorable, who could resist her charms?
So much like Yaya.
Once Zhouzhou had soothed them, she relaxed, lying on Wolf King, and soon fell asleep, tired from a day's play.
Ye Lingfeng approached to carry her away, but Lu Ye was faster, snatching the little girl.
After a while, their overstuffed stomachs forced them to go for a walk.
Hearing the commotion, Ye Lingfeng smirked, rolled over, and fell into a deep sleep.
He had warned them, after all. If they didn't listen, they only had themselves to blame.
The next day, Zhouzhou woke up and spotted Lu Ye and the Wolf King slumped on the couch, looking utterly exhausted. Curious, she asked, "Brother, Uncle Wolf, what's wrong with you?"
Upon hearing her voice, the two of them looked over at her simultaneously, their eyes filled with a deep sense of grievance, glaring at the little culprit.
Zhouzhou, bewildered by their stares, blinked and tilted her head in confusion, asking, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Lu Ye and the Wolf King both turned their heads to look at the ceiling, choosing not to engage with the little chubby girl. They were too worn out. They had walked around outside for an hour to digest, and as soon as they returned, she had started up again!
Couldn't she give their stomachs and legs a break? How could a little kid cause such havoc in the middle of the night?
For Wolf King, even going on missions isn't this tiring.
At that moment, Ye Lingfeng appeared, casually scooped Zhouzhou into his arms, and began carrying her downstairs. He said nonchalantly, "Nothing, don't mind them. They just have poor self-control."
If they couldn't manage their appetites, who could they blame but themselves?
Lu Ye shot him a sharp look, his eyes practically throwing daggers. Meanwhile, the Wolf King bent his hind legs slightly, leaning forward in a clear stance of attack.
Ye Lingfeng gave him a side glance, and instantly, the Wolf King sat down on his butt, flopping onto the floor in defeat, panting heavily with his tongue out. He was utterly exhausted.
At that moment, Laifu, hearing the commotion, came running over. As soon as he spotted his "father," his eyes lit up, and he dashed over to the Wolf King's side. Tilting his head, he observed the Wolf King's position, then rolled onto the ground, panting with his tongue out and wagging his tail enthusiastically.
Look, I can do it too!
The Wolf King was startled and instinctively slapped Laifu, sending him flying.
Where did this dog come from, and how dare it look so much like his son?
Ugh!
As Laifu flew through the air, he looked back at his old man in confusion, letting out a pitiful "Awooo" of protest.
Guess there's no love left!
