Chapter 728 Eat Him
Chapter 728 Eat Him
"Ah--"
The manager let out a high-pitched scream as his corpulent body flew backward with an unprecedented lightness, slamming into the wall with a loud crash. In an instant, he felt as though his internal organs were about to shift positions.
Everyone stared at Zhouzhou in disbelief.
Zhouzhou calmly withdrew her little fist and looked up at Gu Shao and the others. "Second Senior Brother, the uncle is okay; he's alive and has been saved."
Hearing this, the other workers breathed a collective sigh of relief. At least their co-worker had been saved.
They looked at Zhouzhou with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. Could such a small girl really be responsible for saving him? It seemed impossible.
Just then, a group of people walked over briskly.
The lead doctor, surprised, said, "Director?"
To his astonishment, the Director didn't even glance at him but instead went straight to Zhouzhou. He crouched down to her level and, with an unusually gentle expression, said, "Are you Dr. Qin?"
This was the first time someone had addressed Zhouzhou as Dr. Qin. She felt a surge of pride, as if she had grown several feet taller.
Zhouzhou suddenly felt like she'd grown at least three meters tall. Puffing out her little belly, she placed her hands behind her back and said in her soft, cute voice, "That's right, it was me."
The scene was somewhat comical, but the director looked at Zhouzhou with a gaze full of respect. "Thank you for coming to help today. Rest assured, Old Liu has already instructed us. We will fully cooperate with you for the upcoming treatment."@@@@
As he spoke, the director couldn't help but feel a bit astonished. This little girl was Old Liu's master? At such a young age, she was already so skilled—who knew how powerful she'd become in the future. They'd have to treat her like a little ancestor from now on.
Hearing this, Zhouzhou mimicked Qin Lie's mannerisms, nodding slightly, "Mhm."
"First, send this uncle to the hospital room," she added. Then, pointing at the manager with puffed cheeks, she firmly said, "Don't save this bad guy."
"Alright, alright." The Director stood up and, without sparing the manager a glance, instructed the doctors to move him to a VIP ward with 24-hour monitoring.
"And the wooden planks were swapped for rotten, water-damaged ones. With so many people on them, they couldn't hold up, and Old Li fell."
Gu Shao's face darkened as he realized the gravity of the situation. "They used bad planks and ropes. It's like putting people on a cliff, completely disregarding their safety--just to save a few bucks!"
His anger was palpable. The manager cared more about saving a bit of money than about the workers' lives. Gu Shao's hands trembled with rage.
Zhouzhou placed her tiny hand over his and gently patted it, looking up at him with reassuring eyes. "Second Senior Brother, don't be angry. I'll help you get revenge."
With that, she hopped off his lap and walked over to the manager.
Despite the Director's orders, no one dared to touch the manager, not even to give him a bandage.
The manager, writhing in pain on the ground, suddenly noticed Zhouzhou approaching. His face immediately filled with terror, and he desperately tried to crawl away. However, Zhouzhou grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back like a sack of potatoes, dropping him in front of Gu Shao and the others.
She stared at him for a moment, her brow furrowing. She couldn't keep beating him, or she'd end up eating free meals in a jail cell. But letting him off so easily didn't sit right with her either.
An idea suddenly sparked in her mind, and her eyes lit up as she rummaged through her bag, pulling out a talisman. The Ten Tortures of the Underworld Talisman! It wouldn't cause any physical harm but would make him wish he were dead—a perfect solution.
Zhouzhou smiled sweetly at the manager, a smile so soft and innocent it was chilling. "Don't be scared, I'll make sure you wish you were never born!"
Before he could say anything, Zhouzhou swiftly yanked his soul out and stuffed it into the talisman. Instantly, a sharp, agonizing scream pierced the air. Zhouzhou remained unfazed and even clapped her hands joyfully, proud of her own cleverness.
The evil spirit inside the Soul-Nourishing Talisman, satisfied with her handiwork, nodded approvingly. "That's the way to do it!"
Poking his head out from the talisman, the spirit eagerly asked, "Little Celestial Master, when you're done with him, can I eat his soul? He's so wicked, he'd be a real treat for me!"
Drooling at the thought, the spirit's hunger was palpable.
Inside the Ten Tortures Talisman, the manager's eyes widened in horror as he heard this, his face contorted in terror.
