She was fixated on the money.
Commander sighed helplessly and reminded her, "Be cautious. This guy isn't just a simple human trafficker. I'm afraid there's a deeper plot behind this."
"Don't act yet, let's see what he's up to. So far, he doesn't seem to be making any moves."
It was more like he was scouting the area.
"By the way, any news from Xi Mo?"
"No." Zhouzhou's expression instantly turned dejected. "My little Compass suddenly stopped working."
Ye Lingfeng gently patted her head to comfort her. "Rest for now. Come with me for a walk."
"Where are we going?" Zhouzhou tilted her head curiously.
"Let's take a random walk for now, and we'll decide later."
He had a suspicion in mind, but he needed Zhouzhou's help to confirm it. If he said anything now, he worried the little chubby girl might become too alert and give something away.
However, he underestimated Zhouzhou's acting skills.
All it took was for him to say, "Just think of it as having fun," and Zhouzhou really began to have fun. She held his hand and ran around everywhere, wanting to buy everything.
Before they had even left the hotel perimeter by a kilometer, Ye Lingfeng was already carrying a bunch of trinkets.

She was on a mission, alright. She was just scouting the terrain for now.
The corner of Ye Lingfeng's mouth curled slightly. Even though he couldn't see him, he could easily imagine Commander's exasperated expression.
After a while, Ye Lingfeng, out of rare goodwill, pulled his hat down to cover his eyes and whispered, "At six o'clock."
Hearing this, Commander immediately looked in that direction and noticed another suspicious individual. This one was even better hidden than the previous one. Had Commander not been keeping a close watch, he might not have noticed anything wrong.
Ye Lingfeng had spotted him first, of course. He was Ye Lingfeng, after all. With him around, Zhouzhou wouldn't be in any danger.
Seeing this, Commander smirked. "See? You bought too much. You want everything you see, but with your little belly, how can you eat it all?"
Hearing this, Ye Lingfeng shot him a glance and asked Zhouzhou, "There's something wrong with this candy figure, isn't there?"
It wasn't a question, but a statement.
Zhouzhou nodded. "Yep, it's a Soul-Capturing Talisman."
"What?" Commander was startled, his smile freezing on his face. "What's a Soul-Capturing Talisman?"
Zhouzhou stuck an anti Soul-Capturing Talisman on her forehead, licked the candy figure, and smiled so sweetly her eyes curved with happiness. Then, swinging her little legs, she explained, "A Soul-Capturing Talisman can make people obey orders, even from a distance."
Commander wasn't slow, just unfamiliar with the mysterious techniques of the sect. As soon as Zhouzhou explained, he quickly understood.
A thought flashed through his mind, and he suddenly realized, "So, those missing children who seemed to leave home on their own--someone was actually controlling them from behind?"
Zhouzhou nodded. "Exactly. They probably ate this Soul-Capturing Talisman."
"I see. Damn it!" Commander gritted his teeth in anger. Ye Lingfeng had been right once again. This case really did involve people from the Mystery Sect. Bringing Zhouzhou along had been the right move after all.
As he was thinking this, Ye Lingfeng asked, "Did you notice anything unusual while we were out?"
Without thinking, Commander blurted, "What, was there something wrong with the food in Jiang City?"
They had spent the whole time eating!
Zhouzhou pouted unhappily. "Uncle Commander, if you keep insulting my professionalism, I'm going to get mad."
As she said this, she covered her heart, ready to play the victim. Commander flinched and quickly said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Zhouzhou had almost eaten him into poverty today; he couldn't afford any more losses!
He couldn't handle this anymore.
Zhouzhou sighed in disappointment. Ye Lingfeng chuckled, patted her little head, and said, "Alright, tell us. Once this is over, you can collect your reward."
As expected, Zhouzhou perked up immediately.
