Chapter 832 Two Debt Collectors
Chapter 832 Two Debt Collectors
The group came and left quickly, without wasting a second.
Zhouzhou rubbed her small tummy, tilted her head up, and asked Ye Lingfeng, "Daddy, I'm hungry. Will we make it back in time for dinner?"
She had seen her grandmother and aunt making lots of delicious food, and it smelled so good. Just thinking about it made the little chubby girl swallow a bit of drool.
Ye Lingfeng smiled, patted her head, checked the time, glanced at the cockpit, and confidently said, "We'll make it."
His certainty made Zhouzhou blink her eyes.
The next moment, the plane suddenly accelerated.
Zhouzhou was pressed back into her seat again and let out another "Wow!"
It was so fast! At this speed, they would definitely make it back in time for dinner!
Sure enough, it wasn't long before they landed, taking even less time than it had taken to get there.
Zhouzhou suspected that the pilot was also hungry and eager to eat.
She voiced this thought out loud, and Ye Lingfeng chuckled softly without responding. His gaze shifted behind her, and he raised his chin slightly, saying, "You can ask him yourself."
Hearing this, Zhouzhou turned her head to see a young man in his twenties walking out, looking quite handsome, with a hint of youth still in his face.
He walked out of the cabin, and his long, straight legs immediately caught Zhouzhou's attention.
Zhouzhou glanced down at her own short legs, pondered for a few seconds, then straightened her little chest.
No worries, she was still gathering energy. She would grow taller than three of him combined someday!
Lan Tian approached her, looking down with a curious gaze.
After a while, he finally spoke, "Little girl, your shooting was pretty good."
He had seen everything earlier--one shot, clean and precise, without giving Fred any chance to survive.
Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou proudly lifted her chubby chin, "Of course!"
If not, her head might have been casually taken by someone for profit! Just imagining someone using her head to make a fortune made Zhouzhou feel terrible.
Lan Tian, unable to follow the little chubby girl's train of thought, overheard her muttering something about "fortune" and "hundreds of billions." He raised an eyebrow and glanced at Ye Lingfeng.
This little girl of his seemed to be a bit of a money-grubber.
Ye Lingfeng ruffled her hair with amusement in his eyes.
Tsk, a daughter-doting dad.
Lan Tian silently came to this conclusion.
"Let's go," Lan Tian said as he turned and walked away, hopping onto his motorcycle.
This grudge had to be settled!
Grandma Qin didn't understand but seeing her little granddaughter so angry, she couldn't help feeling curious.
Qin Bei leaned in and asked, "Zhouzhou, where did you and Uncle Ye go to play earlier?"
Zhouzhou, momentarily distracted from her anger with Ye Lingfeng, thought for a moment before answering seriously, "We went to a funeral."
"Huh?" Qin Bei was stunned, scratching his head in confusion. "Who holds a funeral on the first day of the Lunar New Year?"
"It happens," Zhouzhou nodded, her little head bobbing. "They even set off fireworks!"
Now Qin Bei was even more confused. Fireworks? Was it a funeral or a celebration?
Qin Xu glanced down at a message he had just received. It was about a plane crash and explosion over a certain sea, with the coast guard having found nothing unusual except for a few bodies floating in the water--international fugitives, no less.
Each had a bullet hole between their eyes. No one knew who was responsible, but since the criminals had no nationality and were notorious in many countries, no one would step forward to defend them. Everyone was left speculating about who had done it.
Qin Xu glanced from the report to Zhouzhou, piecing it together, his lips twitching slightly.
Fireworks... she really had a way with words.
But who would've thought they'd take out those infamous mercenaries, who gave nations headaches, so quickly? There couldn't have been more than a few minutes of actual fighting, excluding travel time.
Looks like the Fourth Bureau was getting better and better.
Their first mission of the year had been a resounding success -- Zhao Xinghua was probably laughing his head off.
Zhouzhou seemed to think so, too.
As soon as Ye Lingfeng came over, she quickly ran to him and whispered, "Daddy, remember to collect the money. And don't forget the overtime pay."
At this, Ye Lingfeng couldn't help but chuckle again.
"Alright, got it." He pulled out his phone and sent a message.
Zhao Xinghua's smile instantly vanished, clutching his chest in pain.
These two debt collectors!
Wasn't working their job? Why did they always demand more money? What did their salary count for? Was it just a talent recruitment fee?
Ye Lingfeng didn't see anything wrong with this.
After all, when he recruited Zhouzhou into the fold, he had laid out plenty of terms--naturally, he had to keep his word.
Seeing no reply after a while, he sent another message.
If you don't pay up, I'll report you for employing child labor.
He thought for a moment, then added, And I'll take Zhouzhou and jump ship.
