After Descending the Mountain, Seven Big Brothers Spoil Me

Chapter 862 Too Insane

Chapter 862 Too Insane

She scolded angrily, and the other parents could only shake their heads in dismay. Knowing the kind of person she was, they didn't even bother trying to talk her down. It was pointless--she wouldn't listen, and she might even start lashing out at them. No one wanted to invite that kind of trouble.

Grandma Qin couldn't help but say, "The kids who play with her son are really unlucky."

Hearing this, Zhouzhou blinked and said, "Grandma, I'm the one who plays with Zhou Fei."

Grandma Qin was taken aback. She hadn't expected this to involve Zhouzhou.

"So, the injury on his knee--was that because of you?"

"Yeah." Zhouzhou nodded her little head without realizing what was happening. When she played, she often got hurt too--sometimes even bleeding--but she never cried about it. She didn't think it was a big deal.

"We were playing 'Eagle Catching Chickens' this afternoon, and he accidentally fell. That's all."

Zhouzhou pointed to the picture on Grandma Qin's phone, opening it up. She looked puzzled and said, "It's really nothing."

It didn't even need any medicine--it would heal on its own. Why was Zhou Fei's mom reacting like his leg had been broken?

Grandma Qin thought the same--it wasn't even a real injury. But there was no reasoning with someone this crazy. Shaking her head, she just hoped that Mrs. Zhou wouldn't continue making a scene. Otherwise, Zhou Fei might end up with no friends at school. With a mother like that, who would dare play with him?

It turned out she was right. The next day, Zhouzhou arrived at school and saw Huo Ji'an and the others waiting at the entrance. She was just about to greet them when she saw him frantically waving her away, signaling for her to leave quickly.

Confused, Zhouzhou stared at him blankly.

In that brief moment, Mrs. Zhou spotted her.

Her eyebrows shot up as she stomped over, pointing a finger angrily at Zhouzhou, "You were the one who played with my son yesterday, right?"

Her fingernail nearly poked Zhouzhou in the eye.

Qin Lie's face darkened. He pulled Zhouzhou behind him and looked coldly at Mrs. Zhou. "What do you think you're doing?"

Though his tone was calm, his presence was intimidating. Mrs. Zhou was slightly afraid but quickly raised her chin again, thinking of her son. "Your daughter harmed my son like this. Don't I have the right to ask about it?"

Qin Lie laughed coldly, his eyes chilling. "Harmed him? Harmed him how? Do you have a medical report? What degree of injury is it?"

Qin Lie knew she was tough, but it didn't stop the ache in his heart. She had been pushed down right in front of him.

His face grew colder as he stared at Mrs. Zhou, his voice icy. "Your child is precious. So is mine."

"If you won't let go of yesterday's accident, don't blame me for retaliating."

No one ever bullied a Qin family member without consequences.

With that, Qin Lie pulled out his phone.

Zhouzhou hurriedly grabbed his hand. "Dad, there's no need to bother Lawyer Feng for something this small."

Qin Lie looked down at Zhouzhou, puzzled. Usually, she'd jump at the chance for compensation. What had changed?

Seeing his confusion, Zhouzhou whispered in his ear, "If Zhou Fei's mom gets into trouble, she'll be in a bad mood, and she'll definitely blame Zhou Fei again."

She didn't care about his mom, thinking of her as just a temperamental woman. But Zhou Fei--he was pitiful.

He was a good boy, but because of his mother's suffocating love, he lived every day unhappily.

Qin Lie studied Zhouzhou's expression for a few seconds, and finally gave in, putting his phone away.

Zhouzhou exhaled in relief and gave him a big kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, Daddy. You're the best!"

Qin Lie helplessly looked at her, tapping her forehead. "Silly girl, you're helping others after being pushed."

Zhouzhou pouted and said seriously, "I'm not helping her. I'm helping Zhou Fei."

It was the same to Qin Lie. In his eyes, mother and son were no different. Still, now that he had decided not to pursue it, he lost interest in the situation and carried Zhouzhou forward.

At the school gates, seeing that Zhouzhou's classmates were still standing there, Qin Lie shot them a glance and said, "What are you waiting for? Get inside."

The kids glanced nervously between Mrs. Zhou and Qin Lie, but without hesitation, they ran into the school joyfully.

It didn't matter how crazy Zhou Fei's mom was--Zhouzhou's dad was awesome. He could handle the wicked witch!
