Chapter 198 198: Hidden Traps in the Secret Room
Chapter 198 198: Hidden Traps in the Secret Room
The man Liu Junyi had just struck lay sprawled near a hidden corner of the room, directly next to the self-destruct mechanism for the entire base. It must be said that "the person" behind him was really cautious. Although he did not think that this place would be exposed when it was built more than ten years ago, he still installed a self-destruction device here just in case. Only a few people knew about the device, and this man was one of them.
Despite not knowing that all his men had been wiped out, the big man resolved to trigger the device. He understood that sparing Liu Junyi would lead to the complete exposure of their stronghold, making it worthless to his master. Since this place had taken so much effort to establish, he refused to let it fall into enemy hands.
As for his own life, it had ceased to be his own long ago, devoted solely to his master's mission. He decided that if he had to die, he would at least take Liu Junyi with him.
The man's decision happened in an instant. With a burst of desperate energy, he dashed toward the corner where the switch lay hidden. Even with Liu Junyi's formidable strength, she was too far to stop him.
As he extended his hand toward the button, a triumphant grin spread across his face—only to vanish as his outstretched hand was suddenly seized.
"Planning to bring us down with you?" a calm voice asked.
The man stared, stunned, into the face of the young man he'd dismissed as an unimportant follower. It was Ye Fei, standing with a firm grip on his wrist, effortlessly sealing his internal strength and preventing any struggle. The big man realized, too late, who the real threat was.
Ye Fei looked at him coolly, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You tell me who you're working for, and I'll let you live."
Instead of answering, the man demanded, "Who are you?" Shocked by Ye Fei's strength, he desperately wanted to know the force behind him.
Ye Fei replied, "Tell me who you're loyal to, and I'll tell you where I come from."
But the man laughed defiantly. "My master is beyond your rank. If you want answers, ask in the afterlife!"
Ye Fei's calm expression didn't waver. "You'll talk," he said confidently, planning to use a device back in Wanghai to retrieve the man's thoughts.
The big man, realizing this, laughed wildly, a flush creeping over his face. "I won't give you the chance!"
Ye Fei recognized this expression—he'd seen it on Li Si before. The man had activated a hidden poison in a fake tooth, forcing himself into a terminal state. Furious, Ye Fei tried to stop him by sealing his internal strength, but the poison was already in effect, independent of any physical power.
"What's happening?" Liu Junyi asked, joining them.
Ye Fei sighed. "Looks like he was poisoned and triggered it. There's nothing useful we can get out of him now." To prevent the man from suffering, Ye Fei delivered a swift blow, ending his life instantly.
While explaining the poison's effects to Liu Junyi, Ye Fei used his "Search Item" ability on the man's body. As the body disintegrated into ash, two items appeared before him. He examined them with interest, impressed with their attributes.
Ye Fei considered. "It's simple. The poison acts as a deterrent, and many are bound to him through leverage. Li Si, for instance, felt indebted, and the Xuanyin Sect disciples relied on him. That man we just fought could've had his own reasons to stay loyal—maybe family."
After a pause, she looked at him with a soft smile. "What if he captured my sister or me and used us against you? Would you do whatever he asked?"
"Of course," he replied without hesitation. "Nothing matters more to me than my family. But I'd never let him have the chance." His answer brought a radiant smile to her face, and she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close.
Then Ye Fei paused, sensing something. "There's another passageway behind that wall."
Curious, Liu Junyi asked, "Where?"
"Let's look for a switch," he replied.
Liu Junyi quickly located a hidden compartment behind a mirror frame, and after a few adjustments, a section of the wall slid open to reveal a dark passageway.
Ye Fei moved in front, protecting her as they entered. She found herself smiling, feeling safe by his side even in this eerie setting.
The passage extended for several hundred meters before they reached an ordinary door. Cautiously, Ye Fei pushed it open. Inside was a plain, 20-square-meter room, resembling an office. A bed was tucked in one corner, and though the place seemed clean regularly, it was obvious no one had lived there for years.
As they walked in, Ye Fei caught a faint scent, familiar yet hard to place.
Liu Junyi began searching through the room's drawers and cabinets, but found only old newspapers and other unremarkable items. She sighed, disappointed. "Seems there's nothing here of use."
Ye Fei reassured her, "We wouldn't find anything valuable left here. Whoever was here wouldn't leave anything important behind."
She nodded but then looked down, her tone shifting. "Now that the mission's over, I'll need to go to the capital tomorrow to report."
Understanding her reluctance to leave, he pulled her into an embrace. "It's only a few days. You'll be back in Wanghai soon, and then we can see each other more often."
She nodded, then smiled mischievously, suddenly pushing him onto the small bed in the corner. Leaning down, she kissed him deeply, ready to make the most of their time before she had to go. Your journey continues at empire
Ye Fei also saw what his aunt was thinking, because they were about to part, and there would be no one to disturb them here, so she must want to have some crazy time with him before they parted. Ye Fei naturally would not refuse this, and soon he took the initiative and pressed his aunt under him, kissing her little mouth madly while taking off all her clothes, revealing her alluring body that he could never get enough of.
They were soon swept up in each other's touch, Ye Fei preparing to enter her as she spread her legs to welcome him. But then, with a playful smile, she covered herself, stopping him.
"Wait," she said, slipping off the bed and walking away. Ye Fei watched as she swayed her hips teasingly, then reclined, lost in memories of their first time together.
