Chapter 150 - 150: An Extraterrestrial Stalker...?
Chapter 150 - 150: An Extraterrestrial Stalker...?
The Demon King Bloodline, although extremely powerful, also connected the Bloodline holder to HELL itself. If a Demon King stayed away from HELL for too long, then they would lose their Demon King Bloodline permanently. For regular Demons, this meant something worse than death, which was why, even if they found a way to leave HELL, they would prefer to never leave.
For Cassius, however, losing the Demon King Bloodline wouldn't be the end of the world.
That wasn't to say he would allow it to slip from his grasp, but he also wouldn't die for the chance to keep the Bloodline. Yet, in this case, he was nearly ready to head back into HELL.
With months until the deadline, he was confident that he would become strong enough to confront the weakest of the Demon Kings on the 1st Floor of HELL…
—Time passed gradually—
The day that was meant to be a belated birthday for Cassius was a merry one. Everyone seemed to entirely forget about the unfortunate demise of the man who kept the City running. But in the back of his mind, Cassius remembered. And that memory haunted him.
It was highly likely that the Gremlin Extraterrestrial Fiends had something to do with the death of the Hoshito Branch Master…
Cassius had no proof, but he just knew this was the case. And maybe… maybe if he had worked a little more proactively in the
Corra's only lingering regret was not being able to get to know the young man whom she was supposed to become acquainted with at a High School.
Though, if Fate permits it, they might just encounter each other once again.
"What are you so lost in thought for?" Bella whispered into his ear while the other girls took their turns hitting gophers in an arcade game they were all playing.
Cassius slowly looked down, and upon seeing those starry eyes peer into his very being, he sighed. "I was… just thinking about something that no longer… matters."
Bella scrutinized his expression, her eyes emulating a thoughtfulness that one wouldn't normally think to be possible from her.
After a moment, she averted her gaze and linked arms with him.
"What are you doing—" Cassius tried to say, but was interrupted by Bella, saying:
"Can't you just not ask questions every once in a while? What? Do you think I'm making moves on you or something??" She feigned a head shake before pulling him away from the distracted vixens. "Don't ask any questions and just follow me. There's something I want to show you."
Cassius was puzzled, yet still did as she requested and let himself be dragged behind her.
However, neither he nor Bella noticed two pairs of eyes watching them…
One was from the gorgeous Stella, who had dressed up more than she ever had, all to impress a guy—a stupid guy that made her wonder why she even bothered. Nonetheless, she became a little curious when she saw that same man get pulled outside the arcade by the black-haired newcomer.
'She's pretty…' Stella thought with a distinct pout puffing up her cheeks. Gently rubbing her world tree necklace, she worriedly wondered, '...Is that the kind of girl he likes…?'
Overlooking the silver bluish-haired woman's distressed thoughts, the other pair of eyes, one that didn't even appear to be part of this Dimension, watched the hooded man with an unnerving stare. As the Extraterrestrial tasked with keeping track of 'its' son, it was to stalk him at all times of the day.
Typically, the Extraterrestrial would feel that everything was fine, but as of late, it had the nagging feeling telling it that something was wrong. Whenever it stared at the target for too long, its instincts were screaming at it to… cower in fear.
This feeling only became worse with time. And even with the Camouflage Module given by the Mothership's caretakers, the Alien couldn't erase whatever was practically begging for it to run. In fact, the only reason it hadn't already done just that was because of its confidence in the Mothership, the technology provided, and its fear of what would happen to it if it abandoned the mission.
The Mothership did not tolerate the existence of those who could not follow orders…
It also experienced that same unnerving feeling today, yet continued its mission as per usual.
When Cassius and Bella moved, the Alien also moved. It used a special space-warping device to do this. And when it reappeared, it saw the target conversing with a shorter female who was pushing him against the wall and pointing at his chest.
The Alien remained unresponsive to all that it witnessed.
