Chapter 12 Despicable people

Chapter 12 Despicable people

"As expected," the test administrator smiled, feeling some relief. She tried to hide it, but she was actually a bit panicked after checking Noland.

It was one thing for everyone else here to die, but she had heard of this Barthold's relation. If something were to happen to this big oaf during the test, it would bring down a lot of trouble for them at the office.

After all, he was the grandson of a very prominent individual in the shelter.

"Place your hand here." After sighing in relief, the test administrator composed herself. She had to confirm whether or not these two had become slayers.

The blood was a telltale sign, but she still had to register them in their books, so she stretched a small obsidian stone forward and made Barthold place his thumb on it.

The black obsidian stone displayed a hologram before the test administrator, showing that Barthold had indeed succeeded.

"Congratulations, young sir, you will surely rise to great heights," she congratulated. It looked like the Ironback family would sooner get a new powerhouse in their ranks.

She had to leave a good impression.

"Ahh, thank you, test administrator. I will work hard," Barthold nodded confidently. He could finally go home and show his mother his achievements.

"Yes, yes." She kept on smiling at Barthold as he walked away. A young talent like this, he would surely become famous in a few years.

"Uhh, Miss test administrator? Won't you test me also?"

While she looked admirably at Barthold as he walked to the side, a much younger and much colder voice resounded next to her, causing her to feel some shock and to look down.

"Ohh, yes." She was briefly taken away by Barthold's oppressive presence that she had forgotten about Guilliman.

"Place your thumb on the stone," she said. The kid's body was mixed with blood from black rabbits and his own. Clearly, he had gone through a lot in there.

However, wounding a beast and killing it were two different things. Beasts were insanely resistant. The fact that he had come with Barthold sounded a hypothesis in her mind.

He must have been saved by the Ironback boy.

"Let's go." After receiving his license from the test administrator, Guilliman walked towards Barthold as both prepared and moved to the exit.

"Hey, you two ran off. This is against the rules."

But before they could move and pass through the gates, a young man with a nerdy frame appeared before them, stretching his hands out to block their way.

These two had taken silly excuses to leave the group, and now they had come back as slayers? This was against his orders and a gross mismanagement of their team.

Of course, this reasoning of his was born from a superiority complex that was amplified by the girl beside him.

It seemed like now, she who had chosen to follow Noland was the only non-slayer in the group. It was embarrassing.

"Hm?" Guilliman frowned, seeing this annoying fellow again. He really didn't have time for all this rubbish.

"You two need to apologize for your behavior. If you hadn't left, maybe all of us would have made it together. Instead, you chose to be selfish and level up yourself!" Noland scolded.

Even though he was purely lying, he still maintained the vigor of being the one who was wronged. His acting skills were superb.

"Apologize? You must be joking." Barthold became incensed as he walked forward and towered over Noland, looking down with vexation. If not for his poor aptitude, Noland would have felt the mountain of invisible pressure building in the air around him.

It felt suffocating even to Guilliman. Clearly, Barthold was extremely angry.

Ignorance is bliss.

If only Noland could feel what Barthold was emitting, he wouldn't be standing there like an idiot.

"You think you can intimidate me? I'm much stronger..." Before Noland could finish his words, he suddenly felt his body become light as he was picked off the ground and thrown into the iron gate in an instant.

He didn't even know what hit him.

He was knocked out cold in an instant.

"Keep better company." Fuming with anger, Barthold looked down at the scared girl who was previously beside Noland and said before furiously walking out of the area with Guilliman beside him.

He really hated despicable people like Noland.
