Chapter 47 Old Devil
Chapter 47 Old Devil
"This is as far as I go, get," standing just behind Guilliman, the male administrator said with a strange and bitter smile on his face while he scratched his head.
Guilliman had Arcane affinity, one of the most unique affinities in the entire workshop. It had been placed as a strategic asset by the higher-ups of the workshop so whenever a slayer with that affinity appeared they would be referred here.
Unfortunately, there were not many—only about 2 emerging in the past 5 years. Both of whom had later opted to just be combat slayers after a few training sessions with the old man.
Guilliman, though, might just be a great opportunity; he looked like he could handle it.
"Really? How do I find him then?" Guilliman asked, feeling a bit out of place. These guys explained that his arcane affinity was very unique and could only be truly brought out by a particular master in the workshop.
However, before he could even meet the man, they were already bailing on him? That was just too annoying. If they didn't want to help, they could just tell him.
"Ahh, it's not complicated, just say to anyone down below that you're looking for the Old Devil and they'll point you in the right direction promptly," the administrator said calmly, but Guilliman could feel a slight change in the pitch of his voice when he said devil.
It was like there was an inherent fear of him for this particular individual called the Old Devil.
Was that the person they were hiding from earlier? He couldn't help but muse; he didn't get the chance to ask, though, as the administrator soon picked a direction and walked off without second thoughts.
He obviously didn't want to be remotely in this vicinity.
"Oh well," Guilliman shrugged his shoulders with not even a hint of caution as he walked down the staircase in front of him, descending downwards.
First, he felt hot, as the temperature of the forgers upstairs was concentrated downward, but soon enough it diminished as a light appeared not too far away:
"You're ruining it, stop!!"
As soon as he walked through the light, he looked around, finding himself in a small workspace with several individuals working round the clock.
"Three days, tops."
"A week."
Right in front of him, they placed bets on whether he would be able to cope. It didn't seem to be built on malice, though...
'What the hell have I gotten myself into?'
Guilliman thought, a look of bitterness on his face. Was the so-called old man some psychopath? He would soon come to find out as the middle-aged man brought him from where he was standing toward a back office.
"Good luck, little man," the middle-aged man opened the door and led Guilliman in.
Inside was not so different from what Guilliman saw outside; the room was white, seemingly made from a naturally occurring material, and the padding of the walls was smooth and well constructed.
But unlike the outside, there were not a lot of desks; instead, there was just one desk in this place, and it was the one on which a short man could be seen seated.
"What do you want?" The man's voice resounded, asking the middle-aged man what had brought him into his office. He had been in a bad mood since the stupid administration cut his funding; they knew better than to disturb him when he was pissed.
"Uhh, you have a new apprentice, Old Devil," the middle-aged man smiled coyly, looking to the side, indicating towards Guilliman.
As the old man's gaze panned to his figure, his face contorted into one of surprise.
"Office Goblin?" he asked, looking at Guilliman.
This Old Devil was the old man that had cursed Guilliman out at the top floor not too long ago; this was supposed to be his tutor?
Awkward!!
