Chapter 151 Planning for the dungeon
Chapter 151 Planning for the dungeon
"Is the dungeon's next level even open?" Sarah asked, her face showing how much scared she was about the idea of getting back there.
"It was supposed to be open a long time ago, I think it opened like 8 days ago..." Lucas said while scratching his chin.
His face had started growing a bit of hair and scratching his chin had become a norm for him as it felt very comfortable.
Silence befell the shelter again, everyone was in their own thoughts and they weren't any pretty.
Even Lucas went back to those bad memories about the slimy flesh-like walls and floors, the undead that tried to bite and kill them, and lastly... Jimmy's death.
Lucas looked toward Sandra and Haley who had a calmer expression than him but he didn't know how much turmoil was getting built up in the two sisters inwardly.
"Whether you all like it or not, we have to leave for the dungeon one day and everyone has to go."
"What? Why everyone? We just discussed that some of us can stay behind!" Sean chimed in asking the same question that many had in their hearts.
"You remember about the objective right? If you don't defeat the 5 Boss monsters, then there is no chance to get out of this objective alive."
"Tsk... so frustrating..."
"Uncle John is right, and guess what? We are a lot stronger than before. The skills, the levels, everything is an upgrade from the last time."
"You said the same thing last time, that we are strong enough but guess where it made us go." Sean snapped back but Lucas wasn't going to just sit back, he was the leader.
"You should also know that it was not an ordinary level of the dungeon! I asked my dad who has by the way cleared 4 levels already. And there has not been a single experience that I have heard where the land seemed to be alive or they fought the undead... or even a creature 30 feet high!" Lucas said while shouting, he wanted to make things clear.
When even he snapped, things started to feel much more real.
Many had thought that with some sweet talking, they could get out of going to the dungeon but it had backfired for their own good.
"Uhhh.... sureee~" Haley said, the smile still plastered yet her eyebrow twitched a bit in response.
Others around wanted to laugh but controlled it as Haley had already used all her courage in order to write down her name before anyone.
"I will write too."
"Me too."
"Hahaha! Me too!"
The atmosphere shifted from tense to happy as, one by one, the members of the group stepped up to the slab and added their names.
Each name etched onto the stone signified a commitment, a shared resolve to face the dungeon's challenges together.
As the list of names grew, Lucas felt a mixture of relief and pride.
Despite the uncertainty that lay ahead, they were united by a common goal. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire
"I can feel that we have stopped being just individuals or strangers to each other a long time ago, I know that we are a team now. From tomorrow, we will especially train for the dungeon so that even I can leave my back open for you all to protect."
Lucas took a step back, his gaze sweeping over the slate filled with names. "Thank you for showing courage, it was all I needed for us to move ahead."
Sarah, who had been reluctant earlier, took a deep breath and walked up to the stone. With a determined look, she wrote her name alongside the others.
"Count me in," she said softly, her voice carrying a newfound conviction.
Lucas gave her the sweetest of his smile making her blush hard in response. Just like that, surprisingly enough, everyone was ready to go to the dungeon again.
Even Sean, Bill, Sandra, and Haley who Lucas thought would be reluctant came in to write their names this early. It made Lucas feel that the underdogs of the shelter won't stay as the underdogs any longer.
