Chapter 220 Healing and the journey back

Lucas made his way toward his people, a small smile on his face.

He got to them in minutes with how brisk he was in walking.

John got up from the group that was sitting on the ground and talking to come to him.

A big man running slowly toward Lucas was a scene he would always feel comfortable with.

"Is it dead?" He asked just after reaching.

Lucas shook his head in dismissal making him look at him with a confused face.

"Bill is following it to its base right now."

"What? There are more?!"

Lucas nodded with a smile not hiding the fact that he was satisfied that there were more Kobolds.

"Lucas." Ella spoke after coming to him, there seemed to be some concern on his face that Lucas didn't quite understand.

"Yes, Aunt Ella?"

"Let me heal you."

Lucas wanted to downright reject her but seeing how concerned she looked, he let her heal him. It was not her role to heal anymore no matter if she had the skill or not.

"I will heal you too." Sandra came and moved her hand to Lucas's chest.

A white blazing energy covered her whole hand and Lucas felt it to be hot but refreshing at the same time.

He looked at his leather vest to see any signs of it burning from the skill yet it didn't for some reason.

Lucas felt a hand on his shoulder which made him look to the side.

Sarah was caressing his shoulder with pain written all over her face. She looked at him in the eyes to as if check something and Lucas could tell that she was relieved.@@@@

"Lucas... you were too... wild while fighting. You didn't try to protect yourself at all. There is even a scratch on your head. Why did you fight so recklessly?" She asked with pained eyes and voice making Lucas wonder why he did it too.

"What do you mean?"

"... Nothing. You're healed already." She said and stepped back and sat where she was sitting first again.

Jerry came near Lucas's ear and whispered, 'Weirdo Alert' which Lucas ignored completely.

'What is she talking about? I feel very fresh.' Lucas thought and closed his eyes for a second, he went to the feeling again where he could exude out that darkness from his heart, and under his command, it happened again only this time, he controlled himself and made it go back inside.

'Did she mean the darkness in my heart increased? But it doesn't feel like it... then what did she mean by when she said it looks heavier?'

Lucas pondered while everyone had started doing the preparation to move back.

Sandra peeked at him many times but Lucas was too engrossed in his own thought process.

A few minutes passed until Jerry called on Lucas that they were leaving now.

Lucas saw that everyone had at least one corpse on their shoulders or hands.

Jerry had three while he moved.

Lucas took the three that Sandra, Sarah, and Ella were holding and started moving back to the shelter in the hopes of reaching back soon.

Traveling for so long was not exhausting for him but he had the habit of getting bored.

But in the whole way back, now that Lucas had only one goal of reaching back and no fight to go for. He used this time to get as many plants in the way as he could stuffing them in his pockets and the others.

Time passed quickly while doing this until Lucas went and stood in front of a plant for 5 minutes straight.

"Can we go now~ How long will you stare at this plant?" Sandra groaned while making faces and a yawn.

"It's not just a 'plant', but a special one. I am trying to find a way in which I can get it out."

"But if you knew, then you knew. If you don't know, then you don't know." Jerry said while his whole concentration was on moving the dead Kobold's tail from left to right in a swinging motion for fun.

"I know it will come naturally when I can do this but I don't know when I will come back for this, it's too far." Lucas said while scratching his neck in annoyance.

"I think I may have an idea..."
