Chapter 278 True alchemy

Chapter 278 True alchemy

"You are done, great job," Sam said after inspecting each and every quality of the potions and elixirs.

Lucas was very happy with the results.

"Sometimes it feels like this is not your first time doing concoctions..." Sam said with his hand on the chin and narrowed eyes.

"How will I do alchemy before I come here, master? You saw I just got registered with the town." Lucas said with a smile, he did not want his master to be suspicious of him.

"Hmm..." Sam just closed his eyes and took a big sigh.

"You should be proud of what you did today but don't let it get to your head... This is simply the bare minimum.... no, just the scratch."

"Hm?"

"What you made right now can also be made by people who don't even have the alchemist class. You still have a long way to go. This is not even the beginning." Sam repeated his words again so that Lucas realized this fact.

"You are ready to see this now... stay attentive."

Sam's hands moved, this was the first time he saw his master in action, he had been idling all this while.

Sam had made his way toward a potion that Lucas had made, the cap of the potion was right now opened.

Suddenly, under Lucas's eyes, the potions started floating and it stopped in between Sam's two hands.

Lucas was so focused that he had not blinked the whole time and wasn't planning for it any time soon.

A glow came on Sam's hands and the potions started to rotate on their own.

"It's not just about separating the ingredients," Sam continued. "It's about understanding the very nature of alchemy itself. The balance, the harmony, and the potential of every ingredient you work with."

Lucas nodded, absorbing every word. He realized that alchemy was more complex than he had ever imagined. It was not just a craft but an art in his eyes now, and Sam was not just a master alchemist but a true teacher that he needed for now.

"Now, watch closely," Sam said as he began to weave the strands back together. The colors started to merge, swirling into a dance of creation. "The true test of an alchemist is not just to take apart or make some low-level concoction but to rebuild, to find the perfect equilibrium."

Every word that came out of Sam's mouth was like a stream of sweet honey to Lucas's ears. The more he listened, the more it felt like he was finally getting somewhere.

The potion began to take shape again, the colors blending into a radiant glow. Lucas could see the transformation, the raw but now potent essence ingredients becoming something greater than the sum of their parts.

"And that, Lucas, is the essence of alchemy. It's not just about making potions or elixirs. It's about understanding the world that has formed around us and bending it to your will."

Lucas felt a surge of inspiration. He wanted to learn, to explore, and to master alchemy now. He knew it would be a long and challenging journey, but with Sam as his guide, he felt ready to embark on this path of discovery.

As the last strand of liquid settled into the newly formed potion, Sam turned to Lucas with a knowing smile.

"Your turn will come, brat. For now, observe and learn. The path of alchemy is endless, and every step is a lesson." Sam said surprising Lucas even further, he didn't know that the old man could be this genuine when it came to teaching.

Lucas nodded, his determination set aflame. He would become an alchemist, not just in name but in spirit. And one day, he too would master the art of Essence Partitioning.

"Alright, doing this all was to bud that curiosity you have toward crafting in general and make it bloom into a crazy addiction for alchemy progression. Mark my words Lucas... you will be a master alchemist. The class you got can help you with it but it's not possible if you are alone or with some random trainer. You need people from the peak to help you."

Lucas heard him and shuddered, it seemed he knew Lucas's intention of going for other crafts too. But at the same time, to have a person who wants to develop him to greatness made him excited.

He didn't care what this realm or this old man would get from this deal.

"I have decided, This talent of yours will not go in vain. You will be the best alchemist. And if I see worthy, maybe I will introduce you to some other friends of mine."
