Chapter 274: Surprise and Plans (1)

"Surprise", a shout came as I entered my home.

I was surprised to see who spoke. It was my siblings and my parents, all of them.

All of my family is here and I have no idea about this. Oh, it’s a surprise, and they were very good at keeping it a secret. Of course, me being away at the academy helped them keep this as a secret.

"How, when?" I spoke out in a breaking tone.

Well, though I never expected to be a surprise appearance from everyone, I wasn’t that surprised. To say the truth, as my INT started to increase in an abnormal fashion, my emotions too became abnormal and I had to fake a few times.

In those novels, they show that higher attributes would make life easy but that’s not always true.

"Hahaha, we have been preparing for this for months. Of all people, I thought that your mother may not come due to her duties", my father spoke.

"How could I miss my son’s graduating from the academy?" my mother jabbed my father to his side.

"Yeah, even if we are busy, we can’t miss days such as this", my sister spoke.

"Yeah", others nodded as well.

I smiled, "It’s good that you are all here. It has been years since we had been together. Let’s celebrate".

First, I went to my room to freshen up before reappearing in the dining hall.

After the lunch, I returned to my room.

I enjoyed the lunch, to say the least. We all spoke about how we were doing and our plans for the future.

Since I graduated just now, most of the concentration has been on my future plans. I told them that I intended to travel and learn new things.

Though my mother objected at first, she accepted that I was not a child anymore. I am someone who graduated from the Royal Academy in top place. All these years I grew up in their protection but it’s time to fly using my wings without any sort of protection.

They can’t be everywhere and I have to be able to protect myself. It’s the best way to grow. Moreover, I spent a few months in the wild before the academy even started. So they shouldn’t be afraid of the dangers that I would face in the wild.

That adventure was only in the vicinity of the kingdom and home territory. So, though they were worried, they accepted that but now I intend to travel to other kingdoms and empires.

If you ask someone what’s dangerous to humans in this world, many would say either the demons or the monsters out in the wild but that is not the right answer.

Only the intelligent or experienced would say otherwise.

The greatest danger to human life is other humans.

Yes, they are the greatest threat that humans have to face, every day.

Fighting monsters is simple. When they face each other, they would try to kill each other and if the other is powerful, then one would try to escape. Even with demons, it’s more or the same but with humans it’s more than that.

As a human, we would instinctively trust other humans.

Yeah, for us humans, we place ourselves first and then the family. After that, the kingdom or empire we belong. When facing monsters or other races, we would trust other humans. It’s as simple as that.
