38 Final Plan

Gray and I sat in the boardroom on the top floor of the Cooper Real Estate building.

As you probably already know, the floor-to-ceiling windows behind Gray gave us a clear, sprawling view of Crownsborough.

And this time, I was enjoying the view. Why won't I? We had finally made progress.

There were a series of documents spread out between us. Financial projections, blueprints and legal approvals. I know I've said this before but Gray really was good at his job.

But to me, the most important document was the one I was currently holding. My smile remained fixed on my face as I stared at the front cover which was stamped with the project's new name.

"Sunset Inn." I said to myself, nodding. "Has a nice ring to it."

Gray looked up from what he was reading to give me a small smile, pushing his reading glasses up. "Your idea. You said you wanted something memorable. I think it fits."

He tapped the cover of the document, as if setting the title in stone. "Everything's moving according to plan. We've got the business registered as an LLC, and as you requested, Cooper Real Estate is officially a paid broker on this project."

"Good." I nodded.

It would be the height of stupidity to have the Sunset Inn under Cooper Real Estate and not as a separate business entity. I would be using Cooper Real Estate to take out a loan for Sunset Inn. If the worst ever comes to pass, CRE will be taken from my hands. This way, I still get to keep Sunset Inn. The boutique hotel chain will even be worth more than CRE when it succeeds.

This separation also meant that I had to pay CRE for its work as a broker and consultant.

I was currently financing the consultations from the five million dollars I had left. But it's still a win for me. I was basically paying myself. This means that the money I shell out will probably end right back in my pocket.

Gray opened one of the documents with him and passed it to me. It had the latest blueprints and project schedules.

"Does this take into account the project's accelerated time frame?" I asked, glancing up.

"Yes." He confirmed. "If we start this year, between getting all our permits and our renovations, we're on track to open by the following year. Assuming everything goes smoothly, of course." He smiled with a hint of pride and he did deserve to be proud of what he'd done. It was a tight schedule. "Your accelerated vision is going to pay off." He said, leaning back in his chair. "But only if you secure the funds quickly."

I nodded, closing the file. "About that. I'm coming with you."

He raised a brow in question.

"You were invited to the Global Elite Hospitality Forum in Monaco, weren't you? I'm coming as your plus one."

He blinked, surprised.

I grinned at him. "It's the best place to meet the kinds of investors who won't blink at a multimillion dollar project like this."

"I know I promised you Quinn Adams and I'm going to deliver. But it'll be pretty stupid of me not to explore other options."

Gray nodded in agreement.

"That's why I want us to do this together. Investors will appreciate the architect behind the project just as much as the owner and I'm sure you'll be much better than me at pitching this project to the investors."

Gray's eyes lit up at the mention of Monaco. "I can see you're not holding back." He said with a grin. "Of course." I said, matching his grin. "If we're doing this, why not go all in?"

Yes. I would be going to Monaco to meet investors. And my main target would be at the forum.
