Chapter 87 Coming To Fruition

87 Coming To Fruition

After the presentation, I'd spent the time... lobbying. Yeah. Lobbying was the word.

It hadn't taken long to notice where the wind was blowing.

Walk Shop had an enticing idea, yes. But the implementation was another thing. First, there was the backlash.

Humans definitely didn't like the idea of an all-knowing AI. That I know by asking for a show of hands at the Q and A. It had been a clever tactic and best of all, it had worked.

They'd quickly realised that just the idea that Walk Shop was proposing had its flaws.

Not to mention the cost of such a project. It was a partnership, which meant that the cost would be shared and in order to create such a far reaching technology, they'll have to perform large scale reengineering of existing systems.

They might even have to raise funds from other investors.

Why not use Sunset Inn as a proof of concept?

I'd made my rounds and chatted with everyone I knew. Wang had seethed as he also blended into the crowd but I could tell he knew what was going on.

The deal was slowly slipping through his fingers and there was nothing he could do about it.

Now, I sat across from Elsa at the couches on one side of her large office.

The screen on the other side of the office kept playing a short animation of the WireFrame Solutions logo on a loop.

The owner of the office leaned back in her chair, a small, almost undetectable smile playing on her lips as she raised a glass of sparkling water.

"To Sunset Inn and a flawless presentation." She said, holding up her glass.

I smirked, picking up my own glass. "And to WireFrame, the engine working behind the scenes to make it all possible."

"The negotiations are already in motion." I said. "Wang doesn't know it yet but the desperation he's showing to win this deal is driving down his value in the eyes of his investors. He's sabotaging himself and I'm happy to let him."

Elsa chuckled, shaking her head. "You're persistent, I'll give you that."

"I have to be." I said. "Eidolon is a gateway, not the endgame."

Wang's idea wasn't inherently bad. Which is why I want it for myself.

"Sunset Inn will revolutionize hospitality but Walk Shop will give me influence in every corner of tech. Adaptive AI won't just set the gold standard in hotels. It'll set the standard for everything."

Elsa leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. "And what if Walk Shop wins the Eidolon partnership? Doesn't that complicate things?"

"Not at all." I said confidently. "If they win, it'll only make the company more valuable. And I'll still buy it. Either way, I get what I want."

Elsa studied me for a moment, her brown eyes searching mine. "You really believe you've covered all the angles, don't you?"

"I don't just believe it." I said, this time with a smirk. "I know it."

There was silence in the office for a moment before Elsa spoke words I expected yet at the same time, took me by surprise.

"Do you want to have sex with me?"

I'd known she had a hard on for competence but I hadn't expected her to be this enamored. My mouth spoke even before my brain caught up.

"Yes."

She stood, giving me a small smile as she began unbuttoning her blouse.

"Good."
