Volume 1 Chapter 36: Sleep Club
Wen Yang felt that there might be something wrong with him.
Or perhaps it was Ning Chu who had a problem.
Could it be because he had been hanging out with Ning Chu since the beginning of the semester? He actually felt like he was Ning Chu’s little brother, and he felt a bit guilty and uneasy when he did something against Ning Chu’s will.
“Wen Yang! Help me get food! I’ll go upstairs to check on Black Bean first!”
Just after the military training ended, Ning Chu, who had seemed lethargic and on the verge of collapsing just moments ago, now swept past Wen Yang like a gust of wind, quickly running out of the playground.
Wen Yang stood still, took off his cap, and muttered, “Looks like he’s not going to the cafeteria with me today.”
“Shaoqing, going to the cafeteria?”
“I ordered takeout with Wang Jie.”
“Okay.”
Accustomed to eating with Ning Chu, accustomed to having a follower behind him, suddenly going to the cafeteria alone felt a bit lonely.
Without Ning Chu, he didn’t even know how to refuse if a girl came to pester him.
Feeling a bit lonely, Wen Yang walked slowly towards the cafeteria with his hands in his pockets. He recalled the dishes Ning Chu often ordered and calculated how to get through the week with the little money he had.
Although he was relatively frugal, having disposable income for the first time in college inevitably led to some overspending.
The cafeteria, just after the military training, was as lively as ever, with large groups of students in training uniforms lining up at the food windows. Wen Yang ordered his food alone and found an empty corner to sit down.
A serving of shredded pork with green peppers, a bowl of rice with vegetable soup...
“Ning Chu always seems to have tomato and scrambled eggs?”
“And I need to get something for the cat to eat...”
He muttered to himself, but suddenly smelled a wave of fragrance. A girl with a smiling face sat down next to him.
Without even looking up, Wen Yang knew from the artificial scent of strong perfume that it wasn’t Ning Chu.
“Wen Yang~ our club is really great! After the freshmen’s military training is over, we’re planning to rent a villa for club activities on weekends! Many pretty girls will come then!”
Wen Yang glanced at the girl beside him.
“Don’t worry! It’s free, our club president is a rich girl, and she’s covering all the expenses for the gathering!”
“...”
Stepping back a couple of steps uncontrollably, Wen Yang’s back pressed against the door, with no way to retreat, but Ning Chu relentlessly approached, almost touching his nose to Wen Yang’s collar like a cat.
“Wow~ I just went to the bathroom for a while, and things got this spicy? What’s with the sniffing?”
Zhang Shaoqing returned to the dorm from the balcony and saw Ning Chu pressed against Wen Yang as soon as he entered the room.
“No! There’s a strong scent of perfume on him...” Ning Chu exhaled through his nose, lightly humming, “It stinks to high heaven, mixing with sweat, it’s awful.”
“Really?”
“Do you want to smell?”
“Could it be as bad as you say?”
Zhang Shaoqing immediately became interested and hurried over, pressing against Wen Yang with Ning Chu.
Wen Yang was sandwiched between the two guys at the dormitory door, with Ning Chu on the left and Zhang Shaoqing on the right, his expression becoming increasingly awkward.
“Damn! The scent of cheap perfume! Go take a shower!”
“That’s right!” Ning Chu nodded vigorously, “It’s even worse than the perfume on the bus.”
Fortunately, he reacted quickly, otherwise, he would be mistaken for something else again.
Wang Jie glanced at the three of them and silently complained, “What strange roommates...”
“Okay, okay, I’ll go take a shower.”
Wen Yang helplessly walked to the closet, picked up some clothes, and prepared to go to the bathroom. Wang Jie looked at the two still discussing the perfume, unable to contain his curiosity. “Hey! Wait a minute!”
“What’s up?”
“Let me smell it too!”
“What?”
What kind of ridiculous nonsense was this?!
Ignoring them, Wen Yang grabbed his clothes and walked straight out of the dormitory.
Seeing Wen Yang leave, Ning Chu yawned, glanced at Black Bean, who was still exploring the new world in the corner of the dormitory, picked up the takeout box and sat down at the desk, opening a TV series to watch while eating lunch.
His brows furrowed tightly, and he found it hard to eat. Just letting Wen Yang go to the cafeteria alone for a meal, this guy actually went wandering around again! He just couldn’t sit still for a moment!
