Chapter 102 Ultimate Magic Overlord

"A-Alvator, I did it!" Argider practically bounced on her heels, her face lighting up like a festival lantern. She held up her hand as if the tiny flame was still there, even though it had long since flickered out. "I get it now! I just have to understand and feel the essence of things! I'm not useless after all!"

Alvator raised a brow, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He had to admit that her excitement was contagious. Maybe he had doubted her a little too much. Seeing her actually pull it off was... surprising. Pleasantly so.

Perhaps all those long hours she'd spent buried in the library, pouring over ancient tomes and muttering about mana theory, were finally paying off.

"Well," he said with a shrug, feigning nonchalance but failing to hide the glimmer of pride in his eyes, "looks like you've finally figured out the basics. Took you long enough."

Argider ignored the jab entirely, her mind racing with possibilities. She clasped her hands together, her excitement bubbling over. "Wait, wait! Does this mean the more I activate other people's magic, the more magic attributes I get?!"

"Oh, yes," Alvator spoke under his breath, "Argider, the mighty mage... teaching a toddler how to flail with a stick." His tone dripped with sarcasm.

'What's wrong, Alvator? Jealous of my flair?" she teased inside her mind, clearly enjoying the show. Find exclusive stories on empire

"Flair? The only thing you're teaching him is how to trip over his own feet and fall on his face."

The little boy giggled, clearly more interested in the theatrics than the actual swordplay. "I'm gonna be a wizard!" he squealed.

Argider puffed out her chest proudly. "Of course, little one! Under my guidance, you'll be the greatest wizard in all the lands!"

"Right. And I suppose that will make you the grand master of magic... right after you accidentally set his hair on fire."

As Argider and Alvator continued their playful banter, a sudden, urgent scream broke through the air.

"Kian!" the voice shouted, echoing across the training grounds.

A figure appeared on the horizon, running toward them at a frantic pace. As the figure drew closer, Argider could make out a woman, her long blonde and wavy hair trailing behind her as she pushed herself to the limit.

She was panting, clearly exhausted from the sprint, but her posture was regal despite the effort.

She came to a halt in front of Kian, bending slightly at the waist as she caught her breath. Her pale blue eyes flicked from him to Argider.

After a moment, she stood straight again, a slight flush of embarrassment coloring her cheeks.

"Elira Quenvale," Argider murmured to herself, a bit taken aback. One of her soon-to-be wives... but why was she here? She hadn't expected to see her today.

Elira, now breathing a little easier, turned to Kian with a sharp look, her hands on her hips. "Kian," she scolded, her voice soft but firm, the kind of tone that could bring even the most rebellious child to heel. "What have I told you about running off like that? Do you have any idea how worried I was? You're supposed to stay close."

Kian's wide eyes looked up at her, a little sheepish but still smiling in that innocent way children do when they're caught in the act. "I was just watching Argider do magic!" he exclaimed, his voice full of excitement. "She's gonna teach me how to be a wizard!"

Elira's expression softened slightly, but there was a lingering trace of worry in her eyes. She crouched down, gently ruffling Kian's hair. "Don't call her Imperial Majesty like that," she gently pushed down the boy's head. "This is your father... I mean, mother... the Emperor.

Argider, still in disbelief, watched the scene unfold, her thoughts racing.

Wait... hold on... does this mean this child is my... son?
