Chapter 571 Blistered
He scratched his head, the fabric of his orange robe rustling softly as he processed the situation. "But I do remember Jui-Lao mentioning he met a blue goddess. You instructed him to watch over that demon, didn't you?"
Blue, now seated in his palm with a smug expression, nodded confidently. "That's right! Though... only because he has a mission to fulfill. One I can't exactly talk about right now." She gave a dramatic sigh, as though the weight of the world rested on her tiny shoulders.
Fui-Rui nodded slowly, his eyes softening with understanding. "I see. Well, I can't say I've ever met a goddess or one of her fairies before, but it's an honor."
Blue beamed, her wings fluttering proudly. "Of course it is."
JJ, feeling the tension slip from her shoulders, stepped forward and cleared her throat. "Right. Now, about Alexander..."
Fui-Rui snapped back to the conversation, his eyes brightening with recollection. "Oh, right. If you're looking for Alexander, he's in the VIP lounge for sponsors, just down the hall. Straight through the golden doors."
JJ nodded, her eyes darting toward the direction he indicated. "Thanks, Fui-Rui. I appreciate it."
Blue fluttered back to JJ's shoulder, giving Fui-Rui a mock salute before settling down comfortably. "Let's hope this Alexander fellow isn't as stuffy as the rest of them," she whispered into JJ's ear, her tone playful but conspiratorial.@@@@
JJ paused at the entrance, watching Alexander's movements. There was a beauty in the brutality, the way his body moved with purpose, each strike deliberate and final. But even as he performed, there was something off. The sheer exhaustion etched into the lines of his face was impossible to ignore.
The large man on the couch didn't even look up from his notes as he spoke. His voice rumbled through the room like distant thunder, low and unhurried. "I haven't asked for any food," he said, his tone making it clear that he wasn't in the mood for unnecessary interruptions.
JJ blinked, caught off guard by the statement. "I... I'm not here to bring food," she responded carefully, stepping further into the room. Her eyes darted between the towering man and the screen where Alexander continued his training. She cleared her throat. "I'm here to talk about Alexander."
The man finally looked up from his journal, his sharp eyes landing on her with the weight of a falling anvil. JJ felt the pressure in the room double, as if his gaze alone was enough to pin her to the spot. His presence was suffocating—like standing too close to the edge of a cliff while a storm raged behind you.
He didn't move from his seat, but the way he watched her made it clear he didn't need to. Every inch of him radiated authority. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire
"And who might you be?" he asked, his tone not aggressive, but measured, as though he already knew the answer but wanted to hear her say it.
JJ swallowed hard, trying to ignore the knot forming in her stomach. "I'm JJ, a sponsor... for the tournament." She hesitated briefly, measuring her next words. "I came to talk to you about Alexander, but... not for the reason you think."
The large man raised an eyebrow, his dark gaze locked onto hers with an intensity that made her feel even smaller than she already did in his presence. His silence urged her to continue.
