Chapter 575: A deal made

Chapter 575: A deal made

"You talk a big game for something so small," he said, his tone almost playful but with a dangerous edge beneath it. "What makes you think you can make a difference here?"

Blue’s wings buzzed faster, and she floated even closer to his face, practically nose to nose with the giant man. "Because I know Ty better than you know Alexander. And I know that no matter what happens, Ty isn’t going down without a fight. He’s not just some demon you can swat away like a fly. He’s smart. He’s strong.

And he’s got people who believe in him." She jabbed a tiny finger toward the man’s chest. "So don’t you dare underestimate him."

The man’s eyes flickered with a mix of surprise and amusement at her boldness. "You’re quite the talker, aren’t you?" he murmured, his tone still low and dangerous but lacking the previous condescension. He leaned back again, his massive frame settling into the chair with a creak of leather. "But talk only gets you so far. Actions are what matter in this world."

Blue’s wings fluttered as she shot back, "Then you’ll see plenty of action soon enough. Just wait until Ty faces Alexander. You’ll be surprised at what he’s capable of."

The man regarded her for a long moment, his sharp eyes narrowing as if sizing her up. Then he chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound that filled the room. "Perhaps," he said, his voice dripping with quiet amusement. "Perhaps I will be surprised. But my son is no slouch either. You’ll see soon enough that Alexander doesn’t lose."

Blue crossed her arms again, her eyes blazing with determination. "We’ll see who comes out on top."

JJ, who had been silently watching the exchange, finally stepped forward, clearing her throat to break the tense back-and-forth. "Look, we’re not here to argue about who’s better or stronger," she said, her voice calm but firm. "We just want to make sure things don’t escalate too quickly. Ty doesn’t need to face Alexander yet. Let’s avoid that confrontation for now.

They can fight when the time is right."

The man shifted his gaze to JJ, his expression softening slightly. "You really believe that’s the best course of action?" His eyes narrowed, scrutinizing her. "Do you think your demon will be able to survive long enough to face Alexander in the later stages?"

JJ met his gaze without flinching. "I do. Ty’s stronger than you think. He’s not just about brute force—he’s a strategist. He knows when to fight and when to hold back. That’s why he’ll make it through.

The man nodded, his eyes glinting with approval. "Exactly. They’re smart, abandoning the slow approach and going straight for the kill."

JJ’s heart sank. "Ty’s in that area."

The man shrugged, completely unfazed. "Then he better be ready. I promised to send Alexander a message to avoid him, but if he gets caught in that crossfire... well, that’s on him. It’s survival of the fittest, after all."

JJ clenched her fists at her sides, biting back a retort. "I thought we had an understanding."

"We do," the man replied smoothly. "But as I said, I can only control what I can control. If Alexander chooses to ignore my message, then perhaps your demon will have earned his attention."

Blue zipped up into the man’s face again, her tiny fists clenched. "Ty’s not going down that easily! You’ll see. He’ll surprise you!"

The man raised an eyebrow, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "I look forward to it."

JJ let out a slow breath, forcing herself to remain calm. "We need to warn Ty," she said quietly to Blue, turning toward the door. "The Suns are closing in."

Blue nodded, her wings buzzing with urgency. "Let’s go. Ty’s not going to get taken down by those guys."

JJ hesitated, her eyes narrowing as she turned back to the man, a question gnawing at the back of her mind. "Wait. Why would you tell us they’re advancing? You know I’m going to go back and warn Ty. So, why let us know?"

The man’s lips curled into a sly grin, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Why?" He let the word hang in the air for a moment, enjoying the suspense. "For a good show, of course."
