Chapter 589 X and O

Chapter 589 X and O

Fernando closed his eyes, reclining back with a dismissive chuckle. "We'll see."

Back to Alexander's situation.

Alexander stood on solid ground, watching the area around him turn into dark, slippery mud. His eyes scanned the chaos that had erupted so suddenly, the once-stable clearing becoming an unpredictable mire. He felt his footing begin to give way as the earth shifted beneath him, forcing him to adjust quickly to maintain his balance.

"Damn it," Alexander muttered under his breath. "He used all of this as a diversion."

He could see his team's formation falling apart, the soldiers losing their footing, struggling against the sudden shift. He snapped his head toward Jui-Lao, whose expression was twisted in concern.

"What about the other teams?" Jui-Lao shouted, his eyes searching the shifting battlefield.

Before Alexander could answer, the air was suddenly filled with the sound of explosions. A series of blasts erupted in a full circle around their position, the concussive force of each one throwing up earth and mud. The air shook, the ground trembling from the impact as plumes of smoke obscured their view.

Out of the haze, several figures emerged, moving with calculated precision. Rosana was at the forefront, her eyes cold, her expression filled with determination. Beside her was Waddle, his bulky frame moving with surprising agility, and a few others whose faces were twisted in battle-hardened intensity.@@@@

Alexander's eyes narrowed as they came into view, his fists clenched at his sides. He could feel the tension in the air, the anticipation of the coming clash.

Rosana's voice cut through the haze, her words sharp, mocking. "Everyone is locked in combat now, Alexander. But given our skills, the advantage is ours." She smirked, her eyes locking on him. "And before long, all of you will be dead."

Alexander watched as she moved with a grace that was almost unnerving, her form blurring as she leapt off the tree, launching herself at Jui-Lao, who was struggling to regain his footing.

"Jui!" Alexander shouted, his voice echoing above the chaos, but Rosana was too fast.

She reached Jui-Lao in an instant, her body twisting as she brought her leg down in a powerful arc, slamming her heel into his shoulder. Jui-Lao let out a grunt of pain, stumbling back, the force of the blow driving him to his knees. His hands struggled for grip in the mud as he tried to push himself back up.

Rosana's lips curled into a satisfied grin. "What's the matter, Jui? Having trouble standing?" She twisted, her arm coming up to aim another strike, but before she could connect, Alexander lunged forward, his own skill activated.

He stopped mid-sentence, his eyes widening in shock as he saw Alexander moving faster than he could follow, the distortion of energy warping around him. Before the man could react, Alexander was upon him, his fist already in motion.

The punch connected with the man's chest, the force of the blow reverberating through his body. The man's eyes widened in pain and disbelief as he was lifted off his feet, his body hurtling through the air. He crashed into the mud at the bottom of the hill, his body sliding along the slick ground until he came to a stop, his chest heaving, gasping for breath.

Alexander straightened, his eyes locking onto Jui-Lao, who was still locked in a fierce struggle with Rosana and Waddle. He could see Jui-Lao being pushed back, their attacks relentless, forcing him further away from the group.

"Jui!" Alexander shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos.

Jui-Lao managed to catch a brief opening, his eyes flicking towards Alexander, determination in his gaze. "Just go!" he shouted, his voice strained but filled with resolve. "Kill the King, Alexander. I can handle some fodders."

Alexander clenched his jaw, his eyes lingering on Jui-Lao for a moment longer before he turned, his gaze sweeping over the battlefield. He needed to regroup with the others, needed to make a push for the King while there was still time.

"Marcus!" Alexander shouted, his voice rising above the chaos. He spotted Marcus further down, surrounded by the debris of the battlefield.

Marcus looked up, his eyes meeting Alexander's. He was in the middle of an intense exchange with a group of opponents, his body moving with fluid precision as he dodged attacks and delivered devastating blows.

"Bit busy here, Alex!" Marcus yelled back, gritting his teeth as he grabbed one of his attackers and threw him to the ground with a powerful slam.

Alexander frowned, frustration clear on his face. They were losing time. "We're moving for the King!" he shouted. "Get ready, Marcus!"

Marcus grunted in response, his eyes narrowing. His focus sharpened, and he activated his inward skill.

"Vibrational Augment!" Marcus's inward skill allowed him to control the resonant frequency of his own body. By adjusting these vibrations, Marcus amplified his strength and speed, his body moving like a well-tuned instrument of power. The air around him seemed to hum, his fists connecting with bone-shattering force as he struck his opponents. His form blurred for a moment as he dodged an incoming attack, his speed suddenly magnified.

With the attackers around him momentarily disoriented by the sudden burst of speed, Marcus twisted his body, his fist coming down like a hammer on the last opponent standing in his way. He sent the man crumpling to the ground, his expression grim as he looked back up at Alexander.

"Fine, I'll do it myself," Alexander muttered under his breath, his eyes turning cold as he watched Marcus fend off the remaining opponents. He turned his gaze back towards the castle, determination flooding his every muscle. Without waiting for Marcus, he began descending towards the castle, his steps steady, purposeful. He had no time to waste.
