Chapter 607 Slice of Moments
"Breakfast," one of the guards grunted, his voice devoid of emotion. Ty eyed them warily, his muscles still tense from the dream. JJ stirred, slowly lifting her head, her eyes bleary as she looked around.
"What's going on?" she muttered, her gaze moving to Ty, then to the guards.
Ty rubbed his eyes, still feeling the weight of the strange dream pressing down on him. "I, uh... I don't know. Who are you two?" He looked up at the guards, giving a yawn, the grogginess evident in his voice.
One of the guards stepped forward, his face stoic. "We are with the tournament committee," he said curtly. "Our role is to oversee participants, ensure their well-being, and carry out the directives of the higher-ups."
Ty blinked, his mind still catching up. He looked over at the trays of food, his stomach growling softly. The other guard placed the tray on his lap, the odd assortment of items still steaming. Ty took a tentative bite of the fruit, feeling the sweet and tangy burst of flavor fill his mouth.
"You need to eat and regain your strength," the first guard continued, his tone matter-of-fact. "You'll be expected to attend a broadcast in a few hours. It'll be your opportunity to share your thoughts, answer questions, and there will be a one-on-one with the king."
Ty frowned, the mention of the king catching his attention. He exchanged a quick glance with JJ, who looked just as surprised. "A broadcast? One-on-one with the king? Why now?" Ty asked, his voice betraying a hint of confusion.
"The audience demands it," the guard said. "After the events of the first stage, they want to hear directly from the key players. Consider it part of the tournament's publicity."
Ty shook his head, taking a gulp from the glowing drink. The strange luminescence felt almost alive as it flowed down his throat, warming him from the inside. "How many people are left from the entire group?" he asked, setting the glass down, his curiosity piqued.
Ty rolled his eyes, a smirk playing on his lips. "Wow, thanks for the faith, Blue," he joked, shaking his head lightly. Blue just giggled, her wings fluttering as she repositioned herself comfortably atop his head.
"Things have not been great, I tell you," Blue continued, her tone turning more serious. "Very ungood, if I do say so myself. We found your skeleton body being tested on by some weird dudes. They almost killed JJ." She huffed, crossing her arms as if still upset by the memory.
Ty's eyes widened, his gaze darting to JJ. She gave him a small, tired smile, but there was something in her eyes—a heaviness that hadn't been there before. Blue continued, her voice animated as always. "But then I blacked out, and when I woke up, JJ was hurt, but she'd taken them all out. Probably did something really cool too."
Ty glanced at JJ, his expression softening. "I'm sorry you've been dealing with my ADHD fairy," he said, his voice carrying a mix of humor and genuine apology.
Blue tilted her head, her small brows knitting together in confusion. "ADHD?" she asked, her wings fluttering slightly as she spoke.
Ty chuckled, shaking his head. "It's nothing," he said. "Just something from where I'm from."
And where is my body at right now anyways? Ty asked as Blue looked a bit offended I wasn't done with my story.

"I have it secured," JJ said, her voice steady. "Between the run-ins with the Black Bulls and managing the Jedo Estate, I managed to get it into a transfer crystal for easy movement." She paused, her brow furrowed slightly. "I still find it strange that you have a skeleton that isn't this body. I don't fully understand it, but I trust you, of course."
