Chapter 689 Sweeping Motions

Chapter 689 Sweeping Motions

JJ's heart sank as she stared at him, her voice catching in her throat. "Ty... what are you—"

The smirk on his face widened into something sharper, more sinister. "You really don't get it, do you?" He tilted his head, his gaze locking onto hers. "He's not here anymore."

JJ's knees buckled slightly as Ty's grip on her wrist tightened, the sharp edge of his voice cutting through her lingering hope. "He's not here anymore," the creature repeated, its tone chilling in its certainty.

Her free hand pressed against his chest, instinctively trying to push him back, but his body didn't move. It was Ty's body—she could feel the familiar warmth of his skin beneath her touch—but there was something wrong. Something profoundly wrong.

"Ty, stop," JJ pleaded, her voice cracking as her pink strand flickered faintly. "This isn't you."

The creature tilted its head, its expression unreadable as it looked down at her. "You keep calling me that," it said, almost amused. "It's pathetic. He's gone, little one. But don't worry..." It leaned in closer, its grip on her wrist unyielding. "I'll take good care of what he left behind."

JJ's heart twisted as she struggled against his hold, her mind racing. The weight of his words crashed over her, and her voice broke. "No. You're lying. Ty would never—"

Her sentence was cut short as the creature released her wrist, shoving her backward with enough force to send her stumbling. JJ caught herself just before she hit the ground, her pink strand flaring brighter as she clenched her fists. She turned back to him, her expression shifting from shock to defiance.

"You're wrong," she said, her voice firm despite the tremor in her hands. "Ty's still in there. I don't care what you say—he's stronger than you. He'll fight back."

Omina's smirk widened slightly as she straightened, her aura pulsing with renewed energy. "I said, it doesn't suit you," she repeated, her tone steady. "That body isn't yours. And no matter how much you take from it, you'll never be whole."

The skeletal veins along Ty's body pulsed erratically, the dark fire flickering as the creature's expression twisted. "You dare—" it began, but Omina cut it off with a sharp burst of wind that forced it back.

"I dare," she said, her golden aura flaring brighter. "Because unlike you, I know what it means to fight for something real."

The creature snarled, its claws igniting as it lunged at her again. This time, its movements were more erratic, its strikes wild but devastatingly fast. Omina matched it blow for blow, her aura shielding her from the worst of its attacks, but it was clear she was being pushed to her limits.

JJ took a hesitant step forward, her voice trembling as she called out again. "Ty! I know you're in there! Please... fight back!"

The creature froze for a split second, its claws hovering inches from Omina's throat. The ember-like glow in its eyes flickered, and its body shuddered as if struggling against itself.

Omina seized the moment, her hands snapping forward as the black cuffs appeared in her grasp. In a blur of motion, she clamped them onto the creature's wrists with a sharp, resounding click.

The creature roared, its skeletal veins dimming as the cuffs began to glow faintly. Its claws trembled as the dark fire along its body flickered and died out. "What... have you done?" it growled, its voice sharp and filled with fury.

Omina stepped back, her expression unreadable as she adjusted her stance. "While you may be something beyond my understanding," she said, her voice steady, "you still apply to the rules of the body you've taken."
