Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power

Chapter 120 120: You Win, I Surrender

Chapter 120 120: You Win, I Surrender

As soon as Drake spoke, the guild leaders of the smaller guilds grew visibly gloomy.

If the price was under 100 million, they could still manage to scrape together enough. With ExoGenesis' popularity, being the first guild to establish itself would undoubtedly earn a lot of attention. Once they built their reputation, recruited more top-tier players, and farmed a few bosses, they could easily recoup their costs.

But when Drake pushed the price up to 150 million, they realized they couldn't compete.

Inside, they were grumbling.

So what if Drake had money? Was it enough to just throw money around?

Damn it...

They were jealous!

ShieldBreaker, hearing the price, was mentally counting the zeros.

But it was clear that this wasn't even the upper limit for the Guild Token.

As soon as Drake made his bid, DarkSaber immediately followed up: "160 million!"

Drake glanced at him with a teasing smile. "Oh, One Sword, don't go bankrupt over the Guild Token. It's not worth it. Besides, do you really think you can go up against me, Drake?"

That was like throwing fuel on the fire. DarkSaber's face turned dark, and he retorted through clenched teeth, "Who says I don't have what it takes? If you've got the guts, then raise the price. Show me that you're worth it."

Drake rolled his eyes. "Oh, trying to goad me, huh? Well, I'm game. Two hundred million."

The room fell into stunned silence as everyone collectively sucked in a breath.

The audacity! Raising the price so dramatically like that!

Even DarkSaber was caught off guard.

But then, his sharp eyes noticed something. After Drake's bid, his chief strategist and chief financial officer, the Holy Fire Priest Sophie, had whispered something urgently into Drake's ear.

DarkSaber understood immediately.@@@@

It seemed that Drake had let his emotions get the best of him and bid too high, which was now causing problems with his finances.

"So, this is what IFA is really like," DarkSaber thought.

A measly two hundred million was making them flinch.

Was that it?

But then he realized, for Shadow Legion, even two hundred million was a heavy burden. He couldn't just back down without thinking.

If he kept bidding, he'd feel the pain, but if he gave up, it would be unbearable to watch Drake walk away with the Guild Token.

DarkSaber quickly opened his friend list and sent a message to his financial team, asking them to come up with an additional 50 million to cover the difference.

Just as he finished sending the message, he heard Drake sneering nearby. "Oh, One Sword, not bidding anymore? Looks like you're out of your depth."

More importantly, several guild leaders who had been considering giving up now saw a new opportunity and immediately started reaching out to their contacts to form alliances.

DarkSaber's face darkened.

This was unexpected.

Drake, however, wasn't too bothered. After all, he had already received a hint from Tristan.

But for the sake of keeping up appearances, he put on a haughty expression and said, "Hah, so what if you join forces? I'm not afraid. 240 million!"

Storm77 hesitated.

Even with the combined might of their four guilds, this price was hard to swallow.

DarkSaber, sensing the opportunity, immediately raised the price: "250 million."

Storm77 sat back down.

"Forget it. Whoever wants the Guild Token, they can have it. We're out," he muttered.

With Storm77 backing down, DarkSaber's smug expression grew even more pronounced.

When it came to financial power, no one could beat him.

Drake, of course, wasn't going to let DarkSaber have it all his way. He raised the price again: "255 million."

Several guilds that had been considering teaming up instantly withdrew.

They were defeated.

DarkSaber felt a sinking sensation in his chest.

This was getting painful.

He could still raise the bid, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.

As if he could sense DarkSaber's reluctance, Drake taunted, "This is all you can do? I can still raise it."

DarkSaber ground his teeth. "Who says I can't? 260 million!"

Drake remained as calm as ever.

"265 million."

The numbers were astronomical, but Drake's expression remained as if he was discussing a mere twenty-six bucks.

DarkSaber clenched his jaw. "270 million!"

That was the maximum he could offer. If Drake raised the price again, he would have no choice but to concede.

He might not be able to become ExoGenesis' top guild, but Shadow Legion still had its strength. They could catch up later.

But to his shock, after hearing his bid, Drake simply shrugged and said, "You win. I'll back off."
