Seeing that her father was not ready for any compromise, Katla took out a thick stack of papers. Showing that to her father, she declared that these papers had the signature of 77 percent of the company employees who were supporting her to become the next head.
As only 66 percent was needed to fulfill the condition for initiating the Authority Duel, Katla was more than qualified enough for that now. So after showing her father the documents, she asked him for a duel.
Norman was dumbfounded. Even in his dreams he had not expected that 77 percent of his company's employees would support his daughter and not him. It was unbelievable to him. So as soon as he was shown the documents, he immediately snatched them and started to go through them.
Even after going through most of the documents, Norman was unable to find anything worng. But still it was impossible for him believe that something like this could happen. So he started shouting again that all of this was fake and Katla was trying to steal his position.
He even declared that he was going to disinherit Katla from the Celebes family. Hearing this Katla was not sad or angry but just disappointed. She kindly reminded her father that none of the family bloodline could be disinherited according to this family law. Even if Norman declared that Katla was no longer his daughter, as she had the blood of the Celebes family in her vein, she would still be the heir of the family.
Hearing this, Norman could not do anything but to glare at Katla resentfully with venomous eyes while cursing her. He was obviously aware of this rule as the family head but in his anger, he had forgotten it.
Katla did not mind her father's venomous glare and instead asked someone to come in front. Then she introduced this man as Kellings, an official from the city lord. He has already verified her claims on behalf of the city lord and had checked that all the documents that she had prepared were in order. So Norman declaring them fake was incorrect.
This round was over even before Norman could bring out his own subordinates. That was because all the important and high ranking members of the company were already on Katla's side. Among the 19 percent who were on Norman's side, most of them were low ranking employee of the company and relatives of Norman's friends whom he had hired. The remaining 4 percent were neutral in this matter.
So the first round was a joke and Katla won easily. Then the city lord congratulated her and explained the second round. He was excited about this round and was looking forward to the results.
For this round, both Katla and Norman were given a few subordinates from the city lord's household. Both of them needed to lead those subordinates to finish some missions. The completion rate of the missions and the opinion of the subordinates on the leader, both would be taking into account when choosing a winner.
So both Katla and Norman took 10 subordinates each from the city lord and started to lead them. From the very first job, the problems with Norman's ability to lead came to view.
He was not completely incompetent but his leadership was not special either. At most he could became a project manager for a small project. Anything bigger and Norman would be out of his comfort zone and his adaptability was non existent.
As for Katla, even the city lord was impressed by her. She was truly extremely talented. Her mother was a close friend of the city lord and he could see that Katla had taken the good qualities of her mother.
So the second round was also an easy victory for her. She had managed to finish all seven of the tasks given by the city lord while Norman had managed to finish only three. The opinions of the subordinates were also overwhelmingly positive for Katla and overwhelmingly negative for Norman.
