Chapter 1178: Asura Blood Gate

"It seems like that little white ape from your tribe doesn't possess sufficient bloodline power to serve as a bloodline heir, Fellow Daoist Yuan Jing," the chief of the Qing Ape Tribe remarked.

"I knew your tribe should've been removed from the ranks of the sixteen premier tribes long ago! NOne of you possess any regal bloodlines in your bodies!" a tall, ape-like man with a mat of long, white fur on his back yelled in an accusatory manner.

He was the chief of the Whiteback Ghost Ape Tribe, one of the sixteen premier primordial tribes that had inherited the bloodline of the Zhuyan True Spirit King. Of course, their bloodline wasn't as strong as that of the Qing Ape Tribe, and it had always served as a lapdog of the Qing Ape Tribe.

The chief of the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe heaved a faint sigh and didn't say anything.

In contrast with the other True Spirit Kings, the Giant Mountain Ape only left behind one descendant bloodline branch in the form of the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe. On top of that, it wasn't a bloodline inheritance in a traditional sense, so their bloodline power had become weaker and weaker with each passing generation.

Yuan Shanbai was an anomaly in the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe in that his Giant Mountain Ape bloodline was far purer than that of his tribesmen, but his bloodline power was clearly still insufficient, perhaps because he was still yet to reach full maturity.

More and more people were beginning to chime in with accusations of their own, and it was a similar scene inside the Holy Primordial Palace, with Yuan Shanbai surrounded by hostile figures with a guilty look on his face.

Xiao Bai couldn't bear to stand by any longer, and he stepped forward in front of Yuan Shanbai as he yelled, "Stop blaming him for everything! It's not like he did it on purpose!"

Liu Le'er didn't say anything, but she had also chosen to stand with them.

"So what if it's not on purpose? That still doesn't change the fact that he's a useless piece of trash!" the young master of the Zouwu Tribe scoffed.

"If we can't open the Asura Blood Gate, then your Mountain Moving Ape Tribe will be to blame!" Qing Dian accused, and this statement garnered widespread support from the tribal representatives, all of whom were furious at losing the opportunity to inherit the bloodlines of the True Spirit Kings because of Yuan Shanbai.

Right at this moment, Bai Ze suddenly called out to Han Li, and everyone instantly fell silent as they turned to Han Li as well.

Han Li heaved an internal sigh upon seeing this. Just as he had anticipated, the True Spirit King had not invited him here for no reason.

Even though he already understood Bai Ze's intentions, he still pretended to be oblivious, turning to Bai Ze with an inquisitive gaze.

Bai Ze stood up from his stone chair, then turned to everyone else present as he said, "All of you were vehemently opposed to my decision to allow Fellow Daoist Han to enter the palace, but unbeknownst to all of you, his assistance will be vital to opening the Asura Blood Gate."

"What?!"

Everyone was astonished to hear this, perplexed about why human intervention was required to open the Asura Blood Gate.

"There's nothing wrong with the bloodline in Shanbai's body, it's just that he's still too young, so his bloodline hasn't been completely activated. Even though Fellow Daoist Han is a human, he possesses the bloodline of the Giant Mountain Ape, and it's far purer than the bloodline of the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe," Bai Ze explained.

Everyone immediately turned to Han Li with stunned expressions upon hearing this.

"Fellow Daoist Han, are you willing to help us?" Bai Ze asked.

The flame inside the brazier instantly reared up as if oil had been spilled into it, and the fire flew toward the glabella of the Giant Mountain Ape statue, basking the entire palace in golden radiance once again.

On the plaza outside, everyone was still reprimanding the chief of the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe when the ground suddenly began to tremble beneath their feet, and bursts of light rose up from the eight mountain paths to reform the projections of the eight True Spirit Kings, this time glowing even brighter than before.

All of the primordial beings on Eight Plains Mountain and in Primordial Garrison City immediately fell to their knees again to resume their prayers.

Meanwhile, more streaks of light continued to rise up from the ground before converging in the heavens, and a series of ancient altar that had been buried for countless years across the boundless primordial land were suddenly awakened, giving off incandescent, golden light even without anyone controlling them.

Countless primordial beings were struck by the instinctive urge to kneel down in prayer, and in this instant, it was as if the entire primordial land had been connected to form a single entity.

Countless streaks of crimson light converged from all directions in the air above the summit of Eight Plains Mountain, forming an enormous gate of crimson light.

There was a giant Asura face on each of the two pillars on either side of the gate, one of which was furious and menacing in appearance, while the other wore a benevolent smile.

The gates in between the pair of pillars displayed a wide array of primordial true spirit projections, not just of the eight True Spirit Kings, but also many others, such as the True Dragon, the Heavenly Phoenix, the White Tiger, and the Xuanwu Turtle.

......

Everyone on the plaza instantly erupted into ecstatic cheers at the sight of the Asura Blood Gate's emergence, and the chief of the Mountain Moving Ape Tribe was also looking very relieved.

In contrast, the atmosphere in the stone palace was rather heavy.

At the moment, six of the eight stone chairs in front of the True Spirit King statues had been occupied, but only the one in front of Bai Ze's statue was actually occupied by a true, living being, namely Bai Ze himself, while all of the other chairs were occupied by humanoid projections that were extremely life-like in appearance, but were only bloodline soul remnants.

Everyone felt a sense of bloodline connection to the projections, but at the same time, the projections also seemed impossibly far away.

Xiao Bai made his way over to the projection of the Ink-Eyed Pixiu, and he looked up at the projection of the handsome middle-aged man with a hopeful look in his eyes.

"It looks like all of the other eight kings have already perished with the exceptions of the Rahu and the Sky Roaming Kun Peng," Bai Ze remarked as he rose to his feet, and there was no detectable melancholy or joy in his voice, only a faint hint of reminiscence.

With a sweep of his sleeve, the crimson projections surged into the brazier in the palace like streams of smoke, and the flame in the brazier instantly rose up to form a fist-sized crimson fireball.

"Come," Bai Ze called out as he drew the fireball into his grasp, then led everyone out onto the plaza outside.

"Your Majesty!" everyone called out in excitement at the sight of Bai Ze's re-emergence.

"Today marks the beginning of the primordial land's return to its former glory!" Bai Ze declared as he made his way over to the Asura Blood Gate, then swept a sleeve through the air to send the crimson fireball flying into the gates.

A dull thud rang out as the crimson fireball exploded, forming a sea of crimson flames that swallowed up the entire gate.

All of the true spirit projections on the gate sprang to life within the sea of fire, and a crimson vortex emerged at its center, marking the official opening of the Asura Blood Gate.
