Chapter 1211: Natural Disaster
"Well done, I can see that all of you have made great progress," Han Li said with a nod of approval.
"We all have you to thank for creating such an exceptional cultivation environment for us, Master," Weeping Soul said with a warm smile.
"Why did you suddenly stop, Master?" Xiaobai asked.
He was at a crucial juncture in the cultivation of a secret technique just now, so he felt a little frustrated to have been interrupted.
"A ten-thousandfold space of accelerated time is not just something that I can set up anytime that I please. We're not going to have access to it in the near future," Han Li said.
His Time Dao Runes needed time to recover, and there were also barely any Immortal Origin Stones left next to the Celestial Time Array.
Even though he had managed to obtain Elder Xi Tang's storage tool, there had been barely any Immortal Origin Stones left in it as he had spent everything on the Soul Scattering Ghost Flute.
If he wanted to set up the space of accelerated time again, not only did he have to wait for his Time Dao Runes to recover, he would also have to accumulate a large sum of Immortal Origin Stones as well.
"It's going to be very slow progress cultivating with the flow of time back to normal," Xiaobai sighed.
"Quite whining! You should be grateful that our master went to so much effort to set up this space of accelerated time for us!" Weeping Soul scolded as she gave Xiaobai a knock on the head with her Soul Scattering Ghost Flute.
A ghostly shriek instantly pierced into his mind, causing him to shudder involuntarily.
"Ow!"
Xiaobai felt as if he had just had a bite taken out of his soul by a malicious ghost, causing him to yelp in pain.
His immediate reaction was to pounce on Weeping Soul in retaliation, but he didn't dare to do so for fear of her Soul Scattering Ghost Flute.
"Alright, stop messing around. I won't be able to set up the space of accelerated time again anytime soon, but you can still cultivate in the Flower Branch domain. I'll go see what's happening outside," Han Li said as he departed from the Flower Branch domain.
Upon arriving outside, Han Li discovered that the Dao Warriors were still in the room, and nothing was out of the ordinary.
He took a glance out the window, and he was greeted by the sight of a glowing, golden mountain range, with much of the plant life on the mountains also displaying a golden coloration.
This landmark alone wasn't enough to tell him the flying boat's current location, so he made his way out of his room before returning shortly thereafter.
He had just gone out to enquire about the whereabouts of the flying boat, upon which he was informed that over half the journey was already complete, and barring any mishaps, they were set to arrive in Nine Origins City in around ten more years.
Without the space of accelerated time, there was no point in entering the Flower Branch domain, and he could keep an eye on things by staying outside, so he remained in his room instead of returning to the domain.
He sat down with his legs crossed on the bed, then flipped a hand over to produce a stack of jade slips and books.
These scriptures contained information that he had gathered in Gilded City about the greater Golden Origin Immortal Region and Nine Origins City, and none of it was of particular importance, but it was still never a bad idea to be armed with more knowledge.
"I see," Weeping Soul replied with a relieved expression.
"Now that you're here, I have a request for you. There's a female cultivator in the neighboring room that bears a striking resemblance to a friend of mine from a lower realm. However, it's been many years since we last parted ways, so I can't be certain of her identity. Would you be able to check for me?" Han Li asked.
"Of course. Which one is it?" Weeping Soul asked.
"The white-robed nun in that room over there," Han Li replied as he pointed at the room in question.
Weeping Soul released his spiritual sense into the room for a moment, following which a displeased pout appeared on her face as she accused, "She's quite the beauty. Could it be that she's a lover of yours?"
"She's just a friend, and I'm not very familiar with her. Otherwise, I would've been able to verify her identity myself," Han Li replied with an amused smile.
"Alright, I'll take a look for you," Weeping Soul said with a nod, but right as she was about to spring into action, a look of surprise suddenly appeared on her face.
"What's wrong?" Han Li asked.
"The people in that room are all very strange. There's one of them in particular that's very interesting," Weeping Soul replied with a faint smile.
"What do you mean by that?" Han Li asked.
"Something's about to happen. If you're interested, you should take a look," Weeping Soul replied with a mysterious smile.
Han Li was rather intrigued to hear this, and he peered into the neighboring room with his Infernal Devilish Eyes.
The five cultivators in the neighboring room had all stopped cultivating to look at the golden storm raging outside with fearful looks on their faces.
They were all Golden Immortals, so direct exposure to the storm would've spelled instant death for them.
The storm was only becoming more and more ferocious, and golden blades of wind were striking the blue protective barrier of the Sun Moon Flying Boat one after another.
The blue light barrier was able to keep the blades of golden wind at bay, but the commotion from the repeated impacts was so loud that some of the weaker cultivators among the passengers on the boat felt as if their eardrums were about to split open.
The five cultivators in the neighboring room had set up around a dozen layers of restrictions and even summoned defensive immortal treasures to protect themselves, but that didn't do much to ward off the debilitating commotion, and all they could do was grit their teeth and bear the pain.
All of a sudden, Sun Chongshan threw up a mouthful of blood as his aura was thrown into a state of disarray.
"Are you alright, Fellow Daoist Sun?" the red-robed woman hurriedly asked in a concerned manner.
A concerned look also appeared on the black-robed young man's face, while the yellow-robed man on the bed also took a glance at Sun Chongshan, but it was one of derision.
As for the white-robed nun, she remained as expressionless as ever.
"I'm fine. I sustained some damage to my internal organs during a recent battle that I've still yet to recover from, and those injuries have been slightly reaggravated," Sun Chongshan replied.
He then took a pill before continuing, "This storm isn't going to pass anytime soon, and if things continue like this, all of us are most likely going to suffer internal injuries sooner or later. I have a spatial immortal treasure that should be able to provide us with adequate shelter to weather the storm."
