“enough talk. i’ll handle the formation around the altar. the two of you, stop that dumb dragon from interfering. i need time to retrieve the sword,” barked the man from the heaven demon divine phoenix race.
“don’t worry, big brother xia feng! we’ll handle it!” the first woman said with a charming smile, though xia feng paid her no mind as he rushed toward the altar.
“divine phoenix power, earth soars to the heavens!” shouted the two women in unison.
the two women unleashed their full strength, their manifestations erupting behind them as their heaven vein dragon qi ignited. the force of their combined power sent the earth dragon tumbling backward despite its immense strength.
“everyone, listen to my orders! the two of us will be the main force!” shouted the woman who had crossed paths with long chen before. “form the divine phoenix space lock formation!”
the remaining heaven demon divine phoenix experts sprang into action. arrows streaked through the air, trailing blood-colored threads. millions of these threads formed into a giant net that descended upon the earth dragon.

after killing the golden armor earth dragon, black qi exploded out of evilmoon and crushed the formation binding the earth dragon.
with a casual wave and a burst of lightning wings, long chen vanished, leaving the underground world in chaos.
“where do you think you’re going?!” the enraged woman screamed, preparing to give chase, but her companion grabbed her arm.
“saving big brother xia feng is more important!”
only then did she realize xia feng’s dire state. when they rushed to his side, they found him conscious but disoriented. his vision was spinning as he struggled to stand.
“big brother xia feng, are you alright?” asked one of the women.
scanning his body, they quickly realized that aside from the gruesome injury to the back of his head, he was not harmed. they couldn’t help but sigh with relief.
“was it long chen who attacked me?” xia feng growled, his voice filled with pain and fury.
“yes! it was him! i’d recognize that hateful voice anywhere. he also revealed himself just now,” one of the women confirmed.
“long chen...” xia feng growled, clutching the back of his head. blood seeped through his fingers, and waves of pain blurred his vision. gritting his teeth, he spat, “long chen, i, xia feng, swear... i’ll kill you!”
“he’s absolutely loathsome. when we find him, we won’t just kill him—we’ll make him suffer for what he’s done,” snarled the second woman, her voice trembling with rage.
they had done everything to claim the treasure, sacrificing hundreds of thousands of their warriors in the process. yet, all their efforts had amounted to nothing. the mere thought of long chen’s smug escape made their blood boil; they felt like they might explode from rage.
