Chapter 447 Story 447: The Chamber of Judgment

The hidden door creaked open, revealing a long corridor bathed in golden light. The team exchanged weary glances, the toll of the labyrinth's endless trials evident in their battered gear and fatigued faces. Yet, they pressed on, drawn toward the unknown.

The corridor opened into a massive chamber, its grandeur surpassing anything they had encountered so far. Tall, arched ceilings glimmered with intricate gold inlays, and massive chandeliers hung suspended, their flames casting dancing shadows on the polished marble floor. At the center of the room stood a grand dais with a single elevated throne, its ornate backrest adorned with roaring lion carvings.

Flanking the throne were two towering statues of armored knights, their massive swords pointed downward into the floor. Their eyes glowed faintly, much like the lion statues from before, giving the unsettling impression that they were alive.

"This feels... wrong," Shadow whispered, her sniper rifle raised as she scanned the room.

"I don't trust statues anymore," Bulwark grunted, keeping his heavy weapon trained on the knights.

Rook stepped forward cautiously, his eyes fixed on the throne. "It's another trial. Stay sharp."

As they approached the dais, a deep, commanding voice echoed through the chamber.

Shadow was back on a rooftop, her scope trained on an innocent target she had once hesitated to eliminate—an error that had cost many lives.

Bulwark faced the rubble of a destroyed village, the result of his explosives. The cries of those who had suffered rang in his ears.

Ghost stood in a dark room, confronted by a version of himself that seemed to flicker in and out of visibility. "You hide because you fear being seen for what you truly are," the figure said.

The team battled their inner demons, each trial forcing them to confront their deepest regrets and fears. One by one, they overcame their doubts, their resolve strengthening.

As they emerged from their trials, the knights froze mid-step, their glowing eyes fading. The throne room returned to its original state, and the voice spoke again.

"You have been judged... and found worthy. Proceed."

A hidden passage opened behind the throne, leading into darkness. The team regrouped, their expressions grim but determined.

"We're not done yet," Rook said, leading the way forward. "But we're getting closer."
