I'm The Devil

Chapter 155: Sisters Of Fate

Chapter 155: Sisters Of Fate

"I don’t recall being an old acquaintance of yours and I don’t remember inviting you," she stated firmly, her stance defensive.

Lucifer’s smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Ah, but where’s the fun in waiting for an invitation?" he quipped, taking another step closer to Athena.

Athena’s grip tightened on her weapon, her instincts on high alert in the presence of the notorious fallen angel. She knew better than to underestimate Lucifer’s cunning nature, especially when he seemed intent on pushing her boundaries.

"I suggest you leave before I’m forced to make you," she warned, her voice steely with resolve.

Lucifer chuckled, unfazed by Athena’s threat. "Oh, Athena, always so serious," he teased, his gaze lingering on her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.

Ignoring his taunts, Athena stood her ground, her gaze unwavering as she watched Lucifer closely, ready to spring into action at the first sign of trouble. She knew she couldn’t trust him, not after everything she had heard and witnessed firsthand.

With a final smirk, Lucifer inclined his head in mock deference before turning on his heel and sauntering out of Athena’s quarters, leaving her alone with her thoughts and a lingering sense of unease. As the door closed behind him, Athena couldn’t shake the feeling that this encounter was far from over and that Lucifer’s presence would continue to haunt her in the days to come.

"What do you want from me and if you would, kindly remove this mark before you go back, I don’t want any part in being your wife," she said presenting her left hand which had the mark of Lucifer on it.

Lucifer looked at the mark for a little while before stretching his hands forward to take her hand which she withdrew before he could hold them, "how am I going to get rid of the mark if I cannot touch your hand?" Lucifer questioned her with a smile.

"How you did it in the first place, so don’t play tricks with me Lucifer, I want you to remove this mark from me," Athena demanded, her voice laced with steely resolve as she held out her hand, the mark of Lucifer stark against her skin.

Lucifer’s lips curled into a smirk as he studied Athena’s determined expression. "And how do you propose I do that, my dear? Magic? A flick of the wrist?" he teased, taking a step closer to her.

After she left, Lucifer lost his smile and sighed, "Getting girls now is going to be very tasking as all of them want to be independent" said Lucifer as he sat down as if it was his house.

"But who do they think I am? I am going to back down on this one, she is mine, I just need a little bit of time and I will have her all to myself" said Lucifer before he got up and walked in the direction of the Palace of Zeus as he had three sisters to meet there.

As Lucifer stepped into the palace, he immediately veered off the main hall and teleported to the secret room where the three sisters of fate resided.

"Hey there, ladies," Lucifer greeted with a casual wave as he entered the dimly lit chamber. "Hope I’m not interrupting anything too important."

Clotho, the youngest of the sisters, grinned at Lucifer’s informal greeting. "Not at all, Lucifer. Always good to see you. What brings you here today?"

Lucifer leaned against the table, crossing his arms as he addressed the trio. "Just checking in on how things are going with that little project we discussed last time. You know, the one involving a certain someone?"

Lachesis, the middle sister, exchanged a knowing look with her siblings before replying, "Ah, you mean our search for that elusive soul? We’ve been making some progress, but it’s slow going."

Atropos, the eldest of the sisters, chimed in, her tone more serious. "Indeed. The threads of fate can be quite tangled, especially when dealing with matters as delicate as this."

Lucifer nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I understand. But time is of the essence, and I need to know if we’re any closer to finding what we’re looking for."

Clotho shrugged nonchalantly. "We’re doing our best, Lucifer. You know we can’t rush these things. The fates work in mysterious ways, after all."

Lucifer sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I know, I know. Patience has never been my strong suit, but I’m trying here. Just keep me updated on any developments, okay?"
