Chapter 180: Releasing Celeste
Chapter 180: Releasing Celeste
Cain approached Celeste, his gaze unwavering as he stood before her. With a flick of his wrist, he released the magical bindings that had held her captive, allowing her to move freely once more.
"You are free to go," Cain said, his voice devoid of emotion. "But remember this, Celeste – interfere with my plans again, and there will be consequences."
Celeste nodded, understanding the gravity of Cain’s words. She knew better than to cross him again, especially now that he had shown his true power and determination.
"Thank you," she said, her voice tinged with relief as she stepped away from him. "I will not forget this."
With that, Celeste disappeared with a burst of light, leaving Cain alone with his thoughts. He watched her go, a sense of satisfaction washing over him. He had achieved what he set out to do – to gain the upper hand and show Celeste that he was not to be trifled with.
As Celeste returned to the Celestial Council, she found herself surrounded by her fellow members, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity.
"Where have you been, Celeste?" one of them asked, a note of suspicion in their voice.
Celeste sighed, knowing that she would have to explain her absence to the council. "I was... detained," she replied cryptically, not wanting to reveal the details of her encounter with Cain.
"Detained? By whom?" another council member pressed, their eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"I don’t think we can spare any more of our forces," said Seraphina causing Celeste and Aurelius, and the other high-ranking members to frown. Knowing why they were looking like that, Seraphina continued, "We all know that we are not the only ones who are children of the Watchers, there are others who are so hell-bent on causing Chaos in the city of Wonders and it is our duty to stop them"
"And we did stop them and had them cornered, but that is the best we could do, corner them and make them not to move unruly. Now taking some of the forces from the entrapment, we would release those vile and hateful creatures to the world" said Carl, one of the high-ranking members of the Celestial Council.
As the council members debated their course of action, tension hung heavy in the air. Each member knew that their decision would have far-reaching consequences, and they weighed their options carefully.
"We cannot afford to release those creatures back into the world," Lord Aurelius declared, his voice resonating with authority. "We must find another way to deal with Cain and his ilk without jeopardizing the safety of the mortal realm."
Seraphina nodded in agreement, her expression grim. "We need to gather intelligence on Cain’s movements and gather our forces accordingly," she suggested. "We cannot defeat him if we do not know his strengths and weaknesses."
The other council members murmured in assent, realizing the wisdom in Seraphina’s words. They knew that they needed to be strategic in their approach if they hoped to defeat Cain and his followers once and for all.
"We must also strengthen our defenses and prepare for the inevitable confrontation," Celeste added, her eyes blazing with determination. "Cain may be powerful, but he is not invincible. Together, we can overcome any obstacle." Find adventures at novelhall.Côm
With their plan in place, the council members set about their tasks with renewed vigor. They knew that the road ahead would be fraught with danger and uncertainty, but they were prepared to face whatever challenges came their way.
As they departed the chamber, a sense of unity and purpose-filled the air. The members of the Celestial Council were ready to take on Cain and his forces, determined to protect the mortal realm and uphold the balance of power within the celestial domain.
