Chapter 310: Breakfast
Chapter 310: Breakfast
After around half an hour of eating and small talk (Ale asked for seconds), it was finally time for what Golem had come to Big sister's apartment... Or so Ale thought so."So, what's on the schedule for today?" Ale decided to ask, since it was about time for the question to come.
Big Sister was already moving the dirty dishes to the sink (She teleported them all away, Ale didn't even really sense the mana moving).
[Mana Sensors detected the flare of space mana, mana pulse logged.]
[Data available for perusal.]
Well, that was good to know, the data may be useful for her to find more data on how to better use their powers then.
"We set up our immediate plans already," Golem started by setting his cup of coffee to the side, "We know what we will do and when, so the next is how we will get there."
How?
"By..." Ale was about to say that they could just use the teleportation artifact, as that was her plan... Or it was till she remembered that they needed to travel to both terminals first. Which would mean that Big Sister and Golem would need to travel to Aquila first to be able to return with them. "Oh..."
"Can't we use the plane?" Big Sister said from the side, raising her hand and teleporting one of the pamphlets about the schools available. "It said they would provide a ticket in one of their fancy planes... or that if we got transport we should call them."
"That was what I wanted to talk with you two." Golem said nodding, "We need to plan this, either we travel together or in different planes."
"Different planes?" Big Sister said confused, "Why would we go in different ones, we are going to the same place."
Were they though?
Ale was not sure about it.
"It seems Ale gets it." Golem nodded at Ale, "Look into the brochure."
Brochure? Wasn't it a pamphlet?
"Hmm...." Big Sister extended her hand towards the pamphlet that Golem was offering, the thing teleported to her hand with the motion, "... The planes are different? But why?"
Ale stood up walking to Big sister to read, and sure enough, the planes mentioned on both pieces of paper were different, as were the photos.
"Neither is the one I came in..." Ale said aloud when looking the data, a ping to the Saintsworths data server gave Ale the information about both planes in the pamphlets. "Big Sister's plane is a normal commercial-grade one, while Golem's one is a heavy-duty and reinforced transport plane."
"Mine is probably designed for the transport of precious materials and prisoners." Golem said with what Ale assumed was a smirk on his granite face, "While yours is a normal plane... And whatever you used before dropping with a droppod was a private jet."
"Yes." Ale said nodding, "But would they allow you to go into Big sister's plane?"
"Probably not." Golem said shaking his head, "At best they would allow her to come into mine... Whether we could board yours is another matter, I assume whatever plane you used could carry me?"
Ale thought back into the blueprint about the plane, and... the answer was obvious. "Of course it could." Mostly because it was not a private jet... in the sense that they were thinking. "I would advise against using that one... assuming it made it back in one piece."
"Why so?" Big Sisters asked, "Don't want to share?"
"Of course not," Ale answered shaking her head, "The plane I took here (And had to leave midway through) was one that Alexanders was supposed to be on."
"Oh..." Golem was the one to answer first, "Yeah... We would be safer traveling in whatever plane your classmates will take."
"Why?" Big Sister asked confused, "Wouldn't it be better to take in that one? Since it's the one the big bad lizard uses?"
"I been meaning to ask," Ale said turning to Golem, "What's the deal with Big sister? I remember her more..."
"Well spoken?" Golem said sighing, "Smart? Composed? Cool mysterious vibe?"
"I am all of that!" Big Sister complained, "...While at work... When I need to keep my image."
"That's about it." Golem shrugged, "She is capable of being all of that, but she just doesn't on the daily."
"I don't need to pretend here in my house....." Big Sister complained, "Besides, I trust you two, I can relax here."
So it was that then... Ale guessed she should be happy about that. But then again, no one could be a perfect person all the time, so it was probably normal to have their own weakness from time to time.
Looking at it from another point of view, people who could keep a perfect facade all the time were more... weird.
"Okay," Ale decided to nod at that, "I understand it then."
"Now explain why using the plane she used to come here is a bad idea, what's the deal with that?" Big Sister asked as she stood up and sat straighter, "Wouldn't it be better? I mean, we would get there faster, more comfortably and it would probably have the right type of materials to allow Eddy to be there, right? No way a plane from the big bad overlord couldn't host Eddy."
"...That is a fair point actually." Golem said nodding, "But that is not the issue, if Ale also thinks it is a bad idea, then probably my guess is right."
"It has indeed the capability to host all of us and more yes." Ale said remembering how much space was left on the plane, "And it could probably brave most things with little to no effort."
It was designed to have the people above the plane to survive exiting the atmosphere and returning to it... It was also designed to have the plane crash into the ground and guarantee the people above to survive.
"The problem is more of whose plane it is." Ale continued on with a sigh, "Let me elaborate more on this."
Then Ale stood up and walked towards the TV mounted on one of the walls. Ale placed a finger on the side of the screen and sent a pulse of mana into the device.
A blueprint of the device quickly flooded her mind, and Ale was now able to understand how it worked, and in what way she could interface with the device. It was different from before when she merely sent commands to Main Core, and it did all the heavy lifting.
Now Ale had an inkling about how the thing worked and what she could do with it, Ale still made use of Main Core on this, since it was convenient.
She did not want to use an image that showcased part of her body or something that gave away what she was doing after all.
"This is the plane I used." Ale said, and the next second the image materialized on the TV.
[Turned on the LED on the bracelet, Mistress, please move slightly your hand lower so the device seems to be in contact with the device you are using.]
[If possible also get your whole hand to touch the device, as this could be used to more easily sell the image you wish to present.]
"It looks amazing, I still don't see the issue." Big Sister said looking at the picture, Ale only needed to think about it and she could see the image projected on her mind's eye.
She also took that chance to move her hand into the position that Main Core had asked her.
"You would think so, also we had these as escorts too." Ale said adding the image of the fighter jets that had gone with them, "But the thing I want to showcase is not so much as this, but this."
Ale then uploaded another series of pictures from different takes of the fighter jets, mostly to try and distract Big Sister and Golem while she tried to sanitize as much as possible the pictures from inside the plane.
That had one too many reflective surfaces after all, all those pods and if one of them had a reflection of Ale... Then she would have a harder time explaining how she was able to do this.
She did not want to have to explain that one quite yet; she would do so at an appropriate time, but she didn't think that time was now.
"And these are inside," Ale said with a smirk on her face, one that Golem noticed since his granite face seemed to frown. Not Big Sister, she merely inched herself closer towards the TV.
Not that she got that much closer since they still remained on the table.
"...Huh?" Big Sister's reaction was that, a simple and confused expression.
"...I see..." Golem for his part nodded, "I can see how they would be able to transport me now."
"...Where are the sofas?" Big Sister said after getting her bearings, "The maids? The food? The jacuzzi? The exotic dancers?"
"I don't know what kind of plane are you thinking about," Ale said shrugging, "But this is what I got with, apparently he skimped on interior design since he was planning to use this for other stuff."
Ale would not elaborate on what, since she hadn't asked at the moment or paid much attention to it.
"It looks like it is made with the idea that the passenger would spend the time sleeping?" Golem said somewhat confused, "But you arrived awake, so I assume that is not the full design, or that there is something here that I am not seeing."
"I don't think I could survive multiple hours inside one of those without going out of it." Big Sister said shuddering.
"Yeah, the use of those pods I highlighted here," Ale said pointing with her left hand at the closest pod that was to her side of the TV, "Is to put the user into a VR environment to spend time while the plane travels to destination."
Golem nodded in understanding while Big Sister had this face of realization, she probably was thinking about the VR environment that Ale had put her into.
So Ale nodded to both.
"So decoration becomes meaningless." Golem said before Big Sister could think about what to say, "I see, it is quite the novel idea to use. And the reason why it was designed this way was..."
"This plane can leave the atmosphere," Ale said with a shrug, "I imagine the G forces that forces upon the body are not something people would be usually willing to survive or entertain."
"Not most people no." Golem nodded in understanding, "But this is not the reason why you would advise us against using this plane, was it?"
"It isn't?" Big Sister said surprised, "Because it is a very good reason to not use this plane."
"The thing is," Ale said with a sigh, "Since Alexanders said he was the one to use it, that data was leaked out."
"So?" Big Sister said confused, "What's the issue with that?"
"He is not liked that much," Golem pointed out.
"So? He is filthy rich and has no qualms in telling it to people." Big Sister shrugged, "Obviously a few would get angry at the asshole for being a show off."
"Some of those people have no qualms about attacking him." Golem pointed out helpfully. "Meaning people may attempt to attack said plane."
"So that's what the fighter jets are for..." Big Sister said when the realization hit her.
"Among other defenses, but yeah." Ale said nodding, "I had to abandon the plane when we arrived close enough to the coast for that same reason."
"So that's why you arrived in a rescue pod?" Golem said in understanding, "You had to eject midway through, someone attacked the plane?"
"Not when I left it." Ale said shaking her head, "But the danger was big enough that the pilot suggested that. That was how I found out these were designed so the passenger could survive a crash landing."
"Oh," Big Sister said nodding, "Yeah, we can take the cargo plane that Eddy will use then."
"We don't know if they will provide a cargo plane for me." Golem said, looking at his pamphlet. "Do you know what type of plane is this?"
Ale turned her eyes to the pamphlet(Or brochure as Golem had said).
"I can check?" Ale said with some doubt on her mind, "Main Core? What kind of plane is that one?"
[Browsing database...]
Main Core's answer came from the TV speakers.
"New voice?" Big Sister asked, "I like this one more, even if it sounds kinda bratty."
"..." Ale was not sure what to feel about that one, "I think it sounds more cheeky than bratty."
[Found match, displaying data.]
Main Core ignored both statements, the cheeky brat she was.
"That... doesn't look like a cargo plane?" Big Sister said tilting her head to the side, "Is it a cargo plane?"
"It looks more like a military plane." Golem said frowning, "What is the designation?"
[Designation: Super Heavy Cargo plane.]
[Name: Heracles Heavy Duty Mk 5.]
[Currently on standby.]
[Plane is being given maintenance as preparation for long travel.]
Main Core's research showed on the screen and it had a few pictures of the interiors even.
"That does not look comfortable." Big Sister said pointing at one of the pictures, "Where would we even sit?"
Ale could see some indentations on the walls of the cargo plane, probably a spot for setting up some benches or something of the like. She had seen a few of those in the Drake One too.
[There are plans for a more humane travel amenities to be installed with the maintenance and service to the plane.]
[But there are hard limits to what can be added.]
"Sounds about right," Golem nodded at the answer that Main Core provided, "Then the main point here is, do we want to experiment with that... or do we see if whatever plane they prepared for you will accept us there too?"
"Would they even let us travel with her though?" Big Sister said as she stood up and stretch, "It's the school for her younger form right? That one is filled with spoiled brats."
"I also registered to a school," Ale said sighing, "Both myself and Alexa will attend school."
"Will they allow that?" Golem was the first to react at said statement, "It will mean you have a registered into two different school system with one singular ID."
"I actually have two," Ale said pulling forward her inscription and Alexa's data into the TV, "One for me and one for Alexa, courtesy of Alexanders."
"... That is why they say that he is an evil Overlord." Big Sister said with a smirk, "It works in our favour for this though."
"That it does..." Ale said nodding. "That it does..."
And as she was about to check the planes available both to Alexa and herself, it was then that something distracted the three of them.
*Ding-dong*
The sound of someone at the door.
"Are we waiting for someone?" Golem asked first as he stood up, extending a hand towards the pile of rocks that were besides the entry. Ready to call them back to himself.
"No?" Big Sister said frowning and getting ready for action too.
Who was coming then?
They didn't have anyone else on the team did they? Or was it Vulcanus? [Eleanore]? [Elder]?
Who came to search for them?
