29: Chapter 29: Archaeologist Raising Dinosaurs_1 29: Chapter 29: Archaeologist Raising Dinosaurs_1 How can I ensure that I always have “freedom”?
This is a question that Yan Fei has always cared about.
So after getting up and eating breakfast in the morning, Yan Fei took his newly-bought copy of “Ancient Bones” and purchased some ox tongue pastries as well, rolling off to the county town home.
On Sunday, Yanfei’s father and mother didn’t get up too early.
When Yan Fei entered, his mother had just started cleaning up the dishes.
Upon seeing Yan Fei entering, the three of them were delighted.
Yan Chao instantly spotted the pastries in Yan Fei’s hand and started calling for his brother.
Yan Fei hastily handed him a cake.
Despite just having eaten, the little fellow still managed to get his entire face covered in crumbs.
Yanfei’s father, however, was focused on the book under Yan Fei’s arm.
He seemed surprised that Yan Fei had brought a book back home and after a moment of surprise, he said: ” Xiao Fei brought a book, what book is it?”
Yan Fei passed the book over, “Bought it on the road, it’s about dinosaur fossils, I read it in my spare time!”
Yanfei’s father was surprised, he took the book and flipped through it, full of disbelief, “You actually like reading this?”
Yan Fei quickly seized the opportunity to prove himself diligent: “Yeah, it’s fascinating!
I had no idea that such enormous creatures used to roam the Earth.
Look at the largest ones named Seismosaurus, killing one of them would probably be enough to feed the entire county!”
Yanfei’s father chuckled, “Hehe, that’s true.
But this book seems a bit tedious, can you really get into it?”
Yan Fei made a bashful expression, “There are some words I still can’t recognize!
But from the bit I did read, I found many inaccuracies!”
Yanfei’s father was perplexed, “What inaccuracies?”
Yan Fei took the book back, flipped over a few pages and showed him, “Look, it says here that the largest Pterosaur could only hunt on the ground.
I don’t think that’s right.
Their wings are so large and they wouldn’t be able to fly in the sky with just a tiny bit of strength.
Moreover, if they were only hunting on the ground, why would they need wings?
They must’ve been formidable in the sky!
Look at this part of the book too, it talks about the discovery of the world’s largest flying creature, saying that the fossils of these Pterosaurs are the largest.
How many fossils have they discovered so far?
And they dare to claim that these are the biggest Pterosaurs?
When they discover a bigger one next time, they’re sure to say that this one is the largest!”
That’s right, I’ve seen Pterosaurs larger than the ones mentioned in the book with my own eyes, and I can even transform!
But I can’t tell you that.
Yanfei’s father didn’t seem to mind the matters Yan Fei pointed out, he was more focused on the fact that his child is reading and learning to think, “Very good, finding inaccuracies means you truly understand it.
For words you can’t recognize now, look them up in a dictionary when you’re in school, eventually you will recognize them.”
Yanfei’s Mom who just emerged from the kitchen exaggerated it even more, “Our family is definitely going to have an archaeologist in the future, specializing in studying these dinosaurs.
Once they’re grown, there will be no shortage of meat in the whole country…”
Yan Fei was puzzled: If he didn’t have an island, could the dinosaurs that had been extinct for tens of millions of years be actually bred?
Yanfei’s father was also stunned: Should a dinosaur re
Yan Fei asked, “What is it?”
“Aren’t you making cheat sheets?
If you don’t do it now, it’ll be too late when the exam comes!” Xie Dang’en said in a conspiratorial tone to him.
Wasn’t that right?
A lot of people in the classroom were busy writing on small slips of paper!
Especially the students from the last two rows, they were truly doing everything they could – the cheat sheets were smaller than their hands, the characters written were tinier than ants.
They had written on both sides of a paper, utilizing all the available space.
Yan Fei was well aware of what everyone was up to!
But he had his plans and had no intention of sharing them with his newly acquainted desk mates.
“Forget it, I wouldn’t even know what to write if I wanted to cheat.
Even if I had the textbook during the exam, I probably wouldn’t find what I’m looking for!”
“You should still prepare something at least.
You might stumble upon it!” Xie Dang’en chuckled upon hearing his words and continued to persuade him.
After thinking for a while, Yan Fei said, “You give me your textbook first.
Show me those highlighted parts, and I will mark it in my textbook before copying it at home.”
Xie Dang’en was eager to help, “Which subject do you want to see?
I’ve annotated all the key points in my textbooks.
Some points I highlighted as ‘key points within key points’, so I can assure you it’s more concise than those good students…”
Yan Fei randomly opened a history textbook and sure enough, this desk mate of his had stealthily annotated all key points crystal clear, using different colored pens, and all kinds of symbols.
The book clearly distinguished between examination points, key points.
Yan Fei was left dumbfounded.
Seeing Yan Fei flabbergasted, Xie Dang’en gave a smug grin, “I don’t usually lend out this textbook.
If not for the fact that we are desk mates you wouldn’t even get to see it.
My dad says, as a student, it’s forgivable if you aren’t good at studying, but if you can’t even find a place to cheat from, you deserve to be beaten!”
It took Yan Fei a while to murmur, “Your dad…he’s really…enlightened…”
